Voted hot for me, you will also be able to get £10 back for every goal England score at the World Cup with this tv. 6,6 and 8 goals at the last 3 World Cups apparently.

Don't think this has Freeview HD..
But is a good price

Worth looking Here Clicky

Doesn't have Freeview HD, but definately a hot deal. Pana Plasmas are great.

We have a 42 in Panasonic plasma, not full HD, but the picture with Sky/Sky HD, dvd's etc. is excellent. Lack of freeview may be an issue for some I guess. I can't find an unbiased review, but if you have Sky this should be a great telly. Voted hot.

Its just Freeview HD it lacks, it has a normal Freeview tuner.

Fast-moving action sequences and sport moves are experienced as smooth and fluid motions, thanks to the inclusion of 400 Hz Intelligent Frame Creation technology.

surely that isnt 400hz, just some stupid branding that calls itsself 400hz

The pana G10 screen is 600Hz

That is *internal* sub-frame processing, separate from the screens refresh rate.

have the p42u10b and my only BIG problem with it is the lack of a reflective filter.

Can't watch dark scenes or play games or watch the TV at all with the curtains open. This is such a problem, I'm considering shifting it on after a mere 6 months ownership.

Worth bearing in mind depending on where you're planning to locate it!

we've got one of these in our lounge, and the reflection side of things is fine for us. we were actually adevised not to get the reflective coasting as we have cats, and they're very easy to scratch, whereas the uncoated screens aren't. end of the day, pick the one that suits you the best, and don't worry too much about it :)

Good deal:thumbsup: fingers crossed England score 61 goals in the world cup.
#12
Does that mean cash back if we score 62 goals?
#13
Very good price for a decent TV. Fits somewhere between the X10 and S10 I think (which are the more common models, so people may be more familiar with them...)
#14
Great deal! Hot
#15
Didn't know about the World Cup deal too, this makes it a stonker!!

I'd have though we'd get at least 4 goals looking at our "easy" qualifying group and hopefully at least one thereafter so at least £50 back I'd suggest

Lol, if England score 62 goals I'll; give you the cash back!
#16
Are there any other good deals in this Currys £10 a goal offer? Probably something a bit smaller at the £600 mark ;o)

I don't know much about them..

Anyone know when the 5% code is over? As I want this but am not moving in for at least another month. Also need to measure up if this is not too big for the living room!
#19
PANASONIC Viera TX-P42X20B 42" HD Ready Plasma is same price but it's all about those extra inches lol

Need to spend at least £599.00 to get the World Cup deal :)
#20

Thanks, but I really want full HD, especially at this size, and will be used for looking at photos.

Again, despite being HD ready, according to Currys this is not 1080p. But thanks ;o)

To anyone in Northern Ireland, the £10 deal doesn't apply.

It's only England, Scotland and Wales sadly.

I got one of these at this price 2 weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. We have quite a bright fromt room and if it is ever on through the day, it is sometimes quite hard to see so we close the curtains. But for us, it is very rare we watch through the day and very rare it is really sunny! so all in all I am very very happy with the set at the price but can understand some people not being happy about the reflection side!

Brilliant Deal.

Forget all that LCD nonsense and go for this

That will be a first then, the Scots and Welsh cheering England every time they score.

Careful here !! The £10 cashback for every England goal has alot of smallprint attached to it. One of these conditions if the offer can not be used in conjunction with any other discount offer, so if you use the MAY5 discount I don't think you will elgible for the £10 caskback offer. Still a good deal which ever choice you make but unfortunately you can't do both !!!
#28
I've had a Panasonic plasma for eight years (cost an arm and a leg)
Wife won't let me buy a new on until this breaks down and despite all my efforts to sabotage the set, it's keeps on going....
Panasonic makes very sturdy televisions!

I'm stuck at work so can't check so does anyone know if this suffers from screen noise(buzzing) or dirty screen on panning?

Phone and ask if you are eligible? And if not, cancel and reorder... Maybe.
#34
Lol could be some interesting gambling going on if it is one deal or the other! England need 4+ Goals to make it worthwhile doing the goals deal instead! :whistling:

The 'U' series are the very bottom end of the range. Less HDMI and other inputs i think as well as not full HD. There is a 'C' series as well comparable to this which is carried by COMET only i think.

You are misinformed as it IS Full HD

The anti-reflection filter makes a BIG difference and I wouldn't recommend one without it personally.
I've had the misfortune of being able to do a direct comparison on the same set on different parts of the screen. My daughter 'drove' one of her toy cars all over the screen and scratched the hell out of it. Not realising it had any coating on it i grabbed the duster and the t-cut to polish them out. The scratches went but so did the filter :(

I am in the same boat as you, but surely they should score more than 4!

I do not understand about this reflective sheet? This version does or doesn't have it? And is it better with or without?

This TV does not have the anti-reflective coating so for a screen this size you need to watch in low light or shiny objects will be reflected in the screen. Anti-reflective coatings will help eliminate refection-but as some have pointed out the anti-reflective coating can be scratched off (especially by cats!)
