Looks like a great TV... If only I could afford one.

Good set and a much better price than I recall seeing it for during Dec/Jan.
No VGA input mind you.

Bought one three weeks ago paid £50 pound more but a very good TV

No stock in belfast

Bought this last October when they were priced at £899. I only paid £560 for mine from Currys using a price match code. First one had to go back because of an nnoying buzzing but the second one has been great. Touch wood. Heat added

Excellent find. Excellent product. Excellent price.

Worth noting though that Littlewoods isn't worth using as a price comparator: it tends to offer interest-free credit on most of its merchandise, and as there's no such thing as a free lunch, then it must build that credit financing into its pricing.

Those who don't want / don't need 'interest free' can almost always find considerably lower prices elsewhere.

seems to be a somewhat old model (June 2006). Are current generation models substantially better?

The picture quality on this screen is amazing. The sound could have a little more depth but is perfectly adequate for my needs. Worth 500 notes all day long.

Yes - upgraded picture processing on the new 70 series, and they're also black not silver. The higher models are also 100Hz. The equivalent of this model is the TX32LMD70 which I got from Comet for £570 in the website sale a couple of weeks ago. Well worth the extra money.

Panasonic TX32LXD70 is the best LCD around at the moment its £150 more though....ive just brought the TX32LXD70 as the reviews are great and even on SD its a really good pictures.

The TX32LMD70 is 50Hz and TX32LXD70 is 100Hz

Both models are good though and have good reviews , i would sooner pay the extra and avoid the one from richer sounds the TX32LMD70 model can be had for only about £50 more now.

If you can find stock, John Lewis will price match if they still stock these. You then get the 5yr warranty (they PM'd at £599 3 months ago)

Richer Sounds offer a 5 year warranty on Panasonic TVs if you buy before end of may anyway.

I know whose warranty I'd rather trust ;-)

I'd say the Panasonic TX-32LXD700 is slightly the better LCD around at the moment.

Ask Panasonic and they will tell you that the Panasonic TX-32LXD700 is the same picture quailty as the TX-32LXD70 all you are paying the extra for is an extra HDMI and SD slot , not worth the extra £100 in my view.

Richersounds are a very reputable company. I've bought a lot of money's worth of equipment from them and their customer service is very good. I don't see why they wouldn't honour the warranty.

You're also paying for better sound quality which makes the 700 slightly better reviewed.

I bought one of these a few months ago and to be honest im a little dissapointed. The viewing angle isnt all that great. Its fine looking at straight on or a little to the sides but its not the best when looking down on it from above. It gets a lot lighter from that kind of angle.

I bought mine from Currys website but when i went into town while i was waiting for the delivery i saw a wall of screens and there a few with noticeably worse pictures. This was one of them. You can tweak the picture to make it good though but there are better screens out there for the same price. I wish i had gone for the toshiba model i was looking at instead of this one which was £50 cheaper at the time.

The last time i checked this one out on Currys website which was shortly after i bought it, it said this model has been discontinued and will shortly be replaced by much upgraded model.

To sum up. It is a good tv but there are better ones out there for the same money.

Well it's all a matter of taste I guess. In reviews, the TV has always come out very highly in picture quality. Yes, the viewing angle is not amazing, but this in inherent with most LCD TVs. Slowly the technology is getting better, but it will take time.

However, there is such a large market out there, so choice is available for all!
