Pixel resolution: 1366 x 768

Better off going for Samsung at Bennetts.

I disagree. I bought this very Panny about 6 weeks ago from Laskys at close to £700 (which was the best delivered price then) and it beats anything else 50" hands down with the exception of the Pioneer Kuros. Don't worry about the pixels and get this TV at this price if you want a 50".

Hot deal.

We have the 42in version of this. II's an excellent tv and personally I would choose a Panasonic over a Samsung. Nice spot OP.

1080p might make a difference on a 50" - depends how close you sit and what you watch.

I have yet to see a TV with a better picture than my Kuro - and mine is only 720p.

Resolution is not everything, SD quality, Contrast and Black level, will all increase your viewing pleasure.

Voted Hot....but i think the samsumg 50" at Bennetts is better!

I`ve got 2 samsung TV`s and both have serious faults, buy the Panasonic thier a fantastic picture !
#8
Panasonic plasmas are wayyyyyyy better than samsung, Also if using for gaming the pannys are bulletproof.
#9
Yeah, but samsung are just better.
#10
Very good price

No, Panasonics are best for build, quality and reliability.
#12
Panasonics are easily the best with the exception of the high end products (Pioneer, B&O etc). This is an unbelieveably good price. I have the 42" version and I really want this but can't justify it!
#13
Good Price :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Do yourself a favour and buy a Panasonic. I have a 2009 TH42PX60B and it has served well over the past 3 and a bit years. Holding out for the 58" to be cheaper (it's a big room)

Hot deal.

very nice set, but want to wait for a 1080p panny at a good price then thats me done for a few years on the tv front

But, they're not. Hence the reviews.

Samsung/Panasonic.....I'm so glad I got a Medion ...:-p

I have this tv and paid 700 delivered a couple of months ago. At this price i would recommend it without a shower of a doubt. Picture quality is fantastic and everything you'd expect from a panasonic. Dont be put off by lack of 1080p, it really isnt everything!

Theres always one.whos gives a **** about samsung. the guy has listed a panny.
Awesome tv, awesome price voted hot..
By the way i bought a samsung tv last time. NEVER AGAIN worst tv i ever had, crap picture and worse sound

Wow, this is an amazing price! I bought the 50" TXP50C10B Panasonic plasma about two weeks ago for £499 and love it! At that time, it was nearly £800 for this X10 model (which has a few more input slots than my C10 and an anti-reflective screen). Panasonic has beautiful picture quality, even when its not 1080.
#21
I got the TX37PX80b and its unreal quality. Have a sharp aquos down stairs and a B&O downstairs, and tbh i prefer the panny

The alternative for this would be the LG ps3000, which is 1080p but costs 75-100 more.

As for viewing distance vs 1080p vs eyesight, here's the BBC research:

http://www.burnyourbonus.info/hdtv-faq/faq3.html

(most such charts ignore eyesight and assume 20/20)

Totally agree, but not when the Samsung is 1080p and was purchased at over £80 cheaper than this price; now slightly more expensive though. I'm voting hot though as it's a cracking price!

Apart from the odd blu-ray film, how much do people watch at 1080p? Brilliant TV, excellent price. I paid £70 more a few months back and I can't fault this telly. I've seen several samsungs and they don't come anywhere near the quality of this set.

Anyone knows where I can get reviews for these?
#31
Panasonic everytime.Picture superb, build quality same, got my pz last year from J.L coz of the warranty but was pricematched by them.
Only Kuro's are better,but that's a dying breed.

Great spot.

I bought the Samsung from Bennets about a month back and can honestly say I am not disappointed. With the 10% off for registering on their site and a further £20 odd in Quidco the TV has only cost me £520. Cracking TV and unless you have seriously miscroscopic vision you will be hard pushed to notice a difference in picture between this and any other telly (my last plasma was an analogue).

Bennetts mucked about for ages before delivering it, but Dixons are notorious for this too.

I too have the 42" panny.......................IT'S FANTASTIC :-D, wouldn't hesitate to get this one if I had the dosh

What a typical HKUD TV thread. My Pannys this and my Sammys that...............get over your brand loyalty. Both Brands make good TVs. Get over it.

Good deal. Heat added.

Samsung / Panasonic

Well I have both, and I can tell you the Panasonic wins on all fronts. If you are into LCD, then the Samsung is a good option, but the plasma has the better picture, and Panasonic make the best plasma.

Easy choice

It doesn't have nearly the resolution a TV of that size should have. A big "Meh" from me.

There's no way I can justify replacing my current 32" CRT, as it's still working well.
And there's no way I can afford this - I'm up to my eyeballs in debt.

But - what a fantastic deal!

It's getting delivered this weekend. w00t! ;-)
(HnR+ of course)

i have the 42" previous model of this and that's a superb tv.

we laso have a sharp aquos 46" in our livin' room & that can't produce a proper black to save its life!! the wife prefers our sharp to the panny, but i know best lol.

I'm after the TX-P50G10 model, just want it to come down to £900 then i can sell our sharp & hopefully not have to put alot of money to get the P50G10.

heat added anyway :)
