Pantum P2010 Mono Laser Printer for £16.77 from frillo.co.uk using promo code DONUT50. Next day delivery included.

Comes with a 700 page starter cartridge - probably enough to last me a couple of years. Replacement cartridges (1500 pages) are a bit pricey at £30.

Got it few weeks ago. It was for 14.99 with 5 reams of paper. Quite decent printer :)

A good price even without the reams of paper.

Surely the cartridges must work out cheaper than my canon mp495. I have it set on black white and it still uses the colour.

This is a right deal. All people print nowadays is Ryanair tickets, gig tickets etc, perfect for that stuff that you throw away. Nothing worse than stressing the night before an early flight. Hot from me.

Brought myself three of them just now :) works out £13.26 each with vat and delivery. Thanks! Hot deal

Don't really have to worry about cartridges in this day and age, cheaper to bin the printer and buy a new one than it is replace the cartridge.

Perfect for printing my ebay courier labels - nice find!!

Wow, tempted for those times I have to print a boat-load of lecture notes and all for less than some cartridges. I doubt it will be brilliant, but should still be good enough.

Now to find some space...

This is the cheapest laser printer I have ever seen.

The government needs to step in and regulate printer manufacturers because it really is a crazy situation when a replacement print cartridge costs twice the price of the actual printer. Total market failure.

It be cheaper to buy three units then replacing a cartridges which cost £40.76 vat+ delivery.for 1500 page print. But getting three units u get 2100 prints for just under £40 :)

I would really like a colour one where you don't get bummed for replacement toner. Either refill or something. I always wanted a colour laser for my personal use because although I don't actually use my ink jet that much, when I come to use it, it never works properly. The heads are misaligned or blocked or dried out and I need to do loads of maintenance just to print one thing off every few weeks. The colours are bad because of it.

I know that using it more regularly would probably help but it's a pain. I would rather pay more for a laser that I could turn on and use occasionally and work perfectly every time I do it and then sit waiting for a couple weeks for the next job to perform flawlessly.

There are printers where you can refill the toner, even for colour. You just need to invest a bit of time researching them before you buy one.

That's true. And also a bit sad. But similar case to many things these days.

You obviously don't have kids ! There's this little thing called homework....and it can be very dangerous to any printer cartridges within a 3 mile radius of a child.

But what do you care......when you're sunning yourself in Torremolinos ! :D

Only recently bought a 'cheap' brother laser for £40 from Tesco :(
Even with kids' homework which on the rare occasion it needs colour, these are an excellent 'investment'.

Just ordered mine too x x x

Thanks ordered cheaper than replacing ink in my high quality Inkjet printer for stuff that does not need to be in high quality

Not quite true in most cases - most come with a smaller 'starter cartridge'. The replacement cartridges will have more toner, so they cost more as a result.

It also depends on the printer. If you want a multi-function duplex device, that will cost hundreds, and toners will be much cheaper compared to the price of the machine. I don't see market failure at all, just a failure for people to appreciate what they are buying!

If a printer costs £40 and prints 1000 pages with a starter cartridge, yet a 2500 page toner is £50, buying another printer is the less economically sound decision, even if it's "cheaper".

What's the craic with drivers etc for these? Will I be able to plug this into my NAS or router to print? What about Google cloud printing etc? Haven't bought a new printer in ten years.
