Yeahhh, bit of a rarity these days. Relaxation and restained fun Vs blowing people's heads off, screaming down your mic at strangers and questioning their sexuality... then walking away more frustrated and with your brain more fried than when you started playing.

Agreed. I've bought less 'special editions' than you can count on one hand during my time buying videogames - and I go way back. Always surprises me when people are willing to pay double (sometimes treble) said value of game just to be loaded with some tat. Skyward Sword and SM3DW 'furry sleeve' edition, now those are boss.

Honestly, people griping at it (Colour Splash) not being 'challenging' enough. It's like me griping Bloodbourne (for example) being too difficult. Few games can be all things to all people, and the few that are, rarities to be treasured - rarely repeated.

Personally I accept into this busy often chaotic balance of work and home life a game which allows some relatively straightforward adventure.

I heard this isn't very good as the combat is bad. You have to choose expendable cards then colour them in before you can do even normal attacks making random fights a complete chore.

Definitely better than expected - while it's not the sequel everyone wanted, it's still entertaining and it looks gorgeous. Those complaining about the battle system, while it's annoying to have to paint in stuff and flick, you can change the settings so it's less of a chore. Worth getting even if you hated Sticker Star IMO

Thanks I have only played DK from your list, I might look in to Pikmin, I was never a fan of the series on previous consoles though.

What I am suggesting also is that, I like the Nintendo franchise characters/games. Was Starfox a challenege, not really and was it ruined by sill controls over a quality experience, IMO....yes.

WarioWare U, that was just awful. It was hard-core, button gaming, insanity on the GC.

Mariokart 8, I do appreciate the 200CC mode with the wrong tyres is nuts. Where was the "every race" in order to get the final top score? Then all that again in mirror mode!

MarioParty....again and absolute waste, why not play a game then flip a coin to see if you won. In the days of the GC for example you really could get "mental" tough against your mates and the best man won.

The 2d Mario game just seemed like rather blunt, of course there were bits that were challenging but tedious, child like game play seemed to be a big (not saying only) theme of the most of the WiiU software IMO.

Nintendo thought kid like Wii gamers and those with kids would lap up the WiiU. They tossed its hard core fans/gamers who started in the late 80's - 90's in to the dirt.

Maybe I ask for too much? Compelling stories and quality hardcode action. I am hoping F Zero and Metroid games bounce back on the NX to lead the way. No swiping, no silly gestures that leave me wondering why I did not buy a tablet/smartphone and pay £3.99 for a game.

Rant over....each to there own I guess and I do appreciate the suggestions for games.

The game looks amazing but the gameplay is terrible, the combat is a chore to get through, your best move it run away, it's also an RPG where all the NPCs look the same which is a shame as it seems to be quite well written and funny.

The game does look very pretty but what matters the most is its gameplay. PM:CS is a good game worth playing but not TYD-good though.

I'll get it via Amazon cause of the vouchers I've to use.

Yes that was tough so were a few parts of other levels. I did think previous games, Mario Sunshine for example had a more complex element to them.

I've not played those games except for MK because I know they are more party local-multiplayer games. I mean, for me personally, there were a lot of games on Wii U I haven't played before like Deus Ex HR DC, Arkham City, ME3, so I had options. I think the Wii U just lacked in certain core/twitch/competitive genres like racing & RTS.

And it is a shame, because the games I mention are the games which made use of the GamePad the most IMO - Deus Ex being one of the best examples; the GP integration there was fantastic. The more complex the game the more the GamePad can be employed as sort of gaming Swiss Army Knife. Using the GamePad alongside a Wiimote and Nunchuck in Pikmin 3 is one of the most immersive and sublime gaming experiences I've ever enjoyed.

But hey, the Wii U's beginning was plagued with issues and we're never going to see the true potential of the console. If the Wii U sold more and 3rd party was there that may have changed Nintendo's own output.

There was actually going to be a WiiU F-Zero, Nintendo asked Criterion (Need For Speed Most Wanted) to do it before Wii U launched I think, but they turned it down and Nintendo didn't ask anyone else so I believe. There was an exclusive Star Wars game in development as well... you can find very early footage of it online.

So, like I say, Wii U was just cursed from the onset... not much you can do about it... but I think there are enough great games to justify the thing.
