I also saw it at £6.95 in Milton Keynes this weekend. Still a good buy, esp for a 6-sheeter, at that price.

Which Southampton store was that? Might pop down and get a pink one - Im not proud..

 I bought the scales yesterday in blue for £1.99 - the shredders looked a bit cheap and probably not cross cut, these just cut long strips which is not that good for security if someone really wants your info...you could then cross cut with scissors yourself though!!!

Scales are brilliant for the price, thinking of getting some more for gifts...

This is not advisable. Shards of hard optical plastic on the outer layer split and splinter, and sometimes fire off in all directions. Easy for kids to stand on and get hurt, or worse, fire into your eyes while you snap it.

Its also known that the internal layer of media is metallic compound which is toxic. Parts of it are mercury. Once the plastic is shattered this toxic metal layer is exposed and harmful if you are picking it up , or manage to let it get into the hands of a child or family pet.

Would suggest the idea of "just break them up yourself" not be promulgated.

No worries, I got one in Tesco West Quay for 14 quid odd and it seems fine. Thanks anyway.
