Good stuff :)

Hearts of Iron looks interesting... might give it a go. Thanks, voted hot.

For me, Mount and Blade has to be one of the best games of the last few years...and so few people know about it!

It's like Elite on horseback - the hours just fly away as slice your way through the land.

Cheapest is about £8 though you can try it for free. Loads of mods from Star Wars to WWII and many others that expand the gameplay massively. Best game bargain I've had since 8-bit days.

great thanks :)

Dude, these ain't good. Let's look at recent prices. Gamersgate the other day had Penumbra (all of them) for £3.26. They had King's Bounty for £8. Play sell Mount and Blade for £8.99. All you have to do is list the titles you want then every weekend scan the pages of the digital download sites for a deal. Or here on hotukdeals.

The cheapest price for Kings Bounty at the moment is £11.99 and £13.08 for the Hearts Of Iron 2 collection and thats including gamersgate. It doesn't matter what price they were in the past the fact is their the cheapest now. If we based prices on how cheap and item has ever been we wouldn't get anywhere! Also the fact is that for most people Steam is the only download service they're willing to use (if any at all). That said i did aknowledge in my post that not all the games may be the cheapest on the net such as Mount and Blade but others are. Like most mass sales its a question of picking through the titles and seeing for yourself.

Hearts of Iron 3 is out next month. That said, I've spent loads of time over the years with HoI2 (and HoI1 for that matter), it is great WWII strategy gaming.

So the moral of the story is that if the price is high then don't buy. Play what you got already. Wait and they will come down.

Hehe. True but most people aren't as patient as you or me. If they want it now then thye just have to!

Gamersgate has already been mentioned so I just thought I'd add that Impulse are doing it to. Depending on the exchange rate (and whether your bank add a flat charge... :x ) it could work out better.

As for the sale in general, nothing special. As has been said if you want something now at a lower price it's okay, but not enough to convince others.
