Seems to be the same price as the DVD, and seems very cheap for a new blu ray.
Heard some good and bad things about it, you decide!

I've heard that, but I've also heard some very good things!
With my student discount came to £11.38 :)

How do you get the student discount on Amazon? Also, isn't this the same price as the DVD because there's no difference in quality?
#4
I had heard it was real and wasnt expecting much but was scared poo-less. then had to google to make sure it was fake lol. Sad I know but it was pretty scary for those couple of hours.

Common sense isn't trivial.

Cloverfield must have really messed you up :w00t:

Don't post very often but I have to say I really enjoyed this film. Much better than the usual horror tripe that gets released. If you like films like the Blair Witch Project you should like this.

However, I'm a firm believer in what you don't see (but what is implied) being scarier than just gratitious violence and gore.

I would have said this was better than most films I saw last year. However, this is just personal preference and everyone is entitled to their opinion (although sometimes I think people forget this on the net!):whistling:

Agreed on not knowing what a HD version would really bring to the table mind! :?

the only benefit of owning on blu ray would be if the sound track in dts hd or dolby hd, slightly better image quality but i doubt there would be a huge increase.

i watched this last year it was ok somthing a bit different from the movies that are labelled horror but are just a gore fest. personally if you havnt seen it id rent it first, as its not a type of film id watch more than once.

You haven't watched many films then.

And to answer someone elses question. The film was made in 2007 but didn't get a theatrical release until 2009 when Paramount picked it up and released it.

Film was garbage, just didn't work at all IMO.It was terribly slow, poorly acted and just looked cheap to me,It wasn't even the least bit scary.I was told to watch the alternative ending, but it really doesn't matter TBH,the 90 mins leading up to it still sucked !.Still, its cheap for anyone who wants one and although the US version has been around for a month or so it is region locked so will not play in UK machines.
#25
Pointless on BluRay as it was filmed using a hand-held camera - but I loved the movie.
#26
Found it more amusing than scary. Wish i didn't waste my money going to watch it at the cinema.
#27
Yet another thread that just dismisses the fact handheld cameras have been able to do 1080p for a number of years. Ho hum.

Poor acting and looked cheap? I think you missed the point of the film!

No,I didn't.I am aware of what it was attempting to create and IMO it didn't work.I was just found it really boring TBH.2007's REC showed how these movies can really work if made well.By the end of Paranormal Activity I really couldn't care less what happened to the annoying couple and if that happens in a film like this, for me the film has failed.

I haven't seen this yet but was thinking it might be along the lines of the Blair Witch style. I know everyone seems to hate the Blair Witch but I loved it, one of the best films I've seen. A really clever idea and different to all the usual Hollywood stuff.

(I am now preparing for the wrath of all the Blair Witch haters!)

I think this is one of those marmite films.

Personally I thought it was rubbish, very slow, little going on, a few jumpy bits that I didn't jump at, followed by the anti-climax. Word of warning, went to see 44 inch chest last night and that was even worse!

Still, I suppose this is a good price for the blu-ray if you liked the movie.
#33
Watched this recently, was bored by it and guessed the very predictable ending, which is a thing I hate to happen!

As a point of reference, I loved the Blair Witch at the time, it scared me witless (well.....more than I already was!!:whistling:) This film, as said, just bored me.

If you are considerng buying do see it first, as its really a Marmite movie!!

Hot deal for new blu-ray tho!

Saying it 'looked cheap' is a pretty moronic statement - of course it looked cheap, they made it for about $50 :whistling:

Yeah, I bet Paramount really regret picking it up and making about 1000 their money back :whistling:

I wasn't a big fan of the movie, it's a fairly negative experience. Girls seem to dig it though as they are perhaps more spiritual than men. They also thrive on negativity.... a bit like a poltergeist.

$50 !,I'd have expected change from that !.

I watched it in the cinemas and was excited with all the hype but it bored me senseless...Whats more it was so predictable. I wouldnt waste your money!

I liked the blair witch, but this was awful. I think it was hyped up too much, unjustifiably, there were 2 jumpy scenes at the end, but it didnt redeem the film up until that point. I was quite taken by the bust of the lady, kept me interested but thats about it.
