Parcel Safe, only £34.98 delivered

Ideal for parcel deliveries while you are at work. I thought I would post this deal because it is similar to but much larger King Hippo box I reported earlier (see tags below), and the price for this has come down from £39.95 when I bought, to £34.98 including delivery, sob sob! The RRP is £49.95 plus delivery. The website that produces these items is at http://www.parcelsafeuk.com where you can find all information.

The advantage for people on Hot UK deals is obvious. When you get all your online Hot Deals for next to nothing, you don't have to wait in for the postman or courier. They pop the parcels in the box, write down the number inside as proof of delivery, lock it and leave. You open it when you get home. A video on the deal website (also on the parcelsafeuk website) explains it all.

I have one of these boxes plus a King Hippo box as I get a lot of deliveries. That is probably a bit over the top for the average person, but I trade a lot on eBay. Having 2 boxes, big small, means I can usually go away for a few days and not have to worry about parcels.

People who only get smaller sized parcels will find this a much cheaper option to the King Hippo box. Having said that it is quite cavernous as the video shows, so it's great value for money, especially with the Easter break coming up.

The green element of this box is time saving and less wasted delivery miles.

Obviously it can only be locked once so...

Yes, that is a drawback. The only solution is to have two, or a King Hippo box as well, a similar discussion is currently going on in the King Hippo thread.

Remember also that postie can usually fit packets that do not require signature through the letterbox.

One problem I find is that not all van drivers have enough grey matter to use it. You can remedy this to a certain extent by putting the address for packages as "Parcel Safe, c/o.." etc, and writing instructions on the delivery notes.

hum looks big, if I order one, I need a bigger one for this one to be delivered into while I'm at work. :)

Or a passer by locks it for a laugh.

Oh you definitely need a Hippo Box first :giggle:, see the other deal I posted!

My King Hippo Box was delivered by the company director of Giraffe Marketing, the makers of Hippo Box, by prior arrangement, in the evening. But yes, this one came by RM or courier, can't remember which.

Believe it or not I am in most days, as I usually work from home. However Royal Mail parcels sometimes come at 7:30am :x - so this box if nothing else greatly improves the quality of my sleep! :-D

You can site it discreetly, and use a window sticker to say where it is, depending on where you live.

Mine has only ever been locked once by a non delivery person, and that was by some little girl who knocked the wrong door. I think she probably just fiddled with it when she waited for an answer, but of course, once you turn it... :)

No, my recorded parcels and special deliveries (ie the van driver) comes at 7:30am to 8am. Regular postman calls at midday. So check my box when I get up, and later in the day.

Or the other option is get your parcels sent to work like I do :P

I think posties arent clever enough to use one of these ;)

Being cynical........What happens if a delivery person keeps the parcel but logs the number inside the box and insists that it was delivered ???

This can't be as secure as signatured delivery, can it ??????

Ha ha! I know my postie personally, and I give him a tip for Christmas. That tip pays off too, a few weeks ago he came at 7:30 with a huge parcel, and he left it in my King Hippo box (see my other deal post). Because it was unusual for him to have to use that box, he wrote on one of his "while you were out" cards and put it in my letter box, saying "parcel in big box".

I think if you don't know your postie you get rough treatment though. I know, cos I sell stuff on ebay. The amount of people who ask where their packages are and the postman has not even bothered to leave a card is high. At Christmas when you get all the temps, it gets worse.

And leaving the card without knocking, I have seen that trick many times, had it played on me. They do it when they are in a hurry. It saves them waiting and carrying things, and getting signatures etc. But for regular postmen, I don't think they will do that when they know you have a box, unless you have upset them!

No, it's not. But they could just make up a signature, and nick your parcel anyway.

Yeah, but some people can't get them sent to work addresses.

If anyone gets one of these, I would suggest cornering your regular postie one day and tell him:

1) this box will save us both time
2) explain how to use it
3) ask him is he OK with it, and if he is allowed to leave Recorded delivery in it.

One thing is for certain. No postman will leave a special delivery in it. That is a really secure service. As far as Q3 is concerned, I think most will want a sig. However, if you know your postie like I do, they just leave R/Ds with no sig anyway. They always have for me, because I get lots of mail. Never trust recorded delivery.

As far as couriers are concerned, well, god knows. It depends on the driver, that's what I have learned from experience

They've been at my door at 6.50am on more than one occasion

These are good for houses but not flats as where would you put one?

Good afternoon.....

I'll introduce myself, I'm Eddie the guy who invented this product (Parcel Safe) and runs the company.....We have a web bot which scans the net for all things Parcel Safe related and I found this. I'm glad you found this special offer from Garden Centre Online, a truley fantastic price and one which is due to expire from the 1st April. The price will then increase to be in-line with my other retailers. At £34.98 this is extremley cheap!! You can't even buy a decent postbox in B&Q for that!

Expect to see Parcel Safe on the high-street during the next few months, retailers include Wickes, Travis Perkins, Costco & The Range! :w00t:

I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you may have, saying that it looks as though 'mouseclicks' has answered the majority of these and is making good use of the box!

 Let's help make parcel deliveries a little less painful!

Welcome Eddie, nice product..

I could make good use of one of these but i live in flats, could you tell me how it attaches to walls? how waterproof is it? and how rustproof is it?

Thanks

Thanks for the comment, Parcel Safe attatches to the wall very easily and is extremley hard to remove, its mounted on 4 fixing points, two at the top and two at the bottom. The two top holes once the lid has been shut and locked cannot be accessed, adding to the security element of the box. We even include all the fixings in with the Parcel Safe.

You get all the wall screws you need, the spacers, the plugs....and to make life easier I've even included a masonry drill bit and screwdriver! (All you need is a powerdrill)....Oh and if you cut out the template on the back of the retail box this will act as a 100% accurate drill template!.....I've thought of everything

The box is weatherproof and will keep the contents dry, its gone through a 14 stage anti-rust process and of course comes with the standard manufacturers guarantee. We've sold over 3,000 of these and only had 2 returned (these were due to courier damage prior to arriving). Our customers are extremley satisfied that for the money they are getting a product which will over time repay itself extremley quickly.

To give you an idea of how much it actually costs you to pick up parcels have a look at our very own cost calculator....I think you maybe surprised!

http://www.parcelsafeuk.com/downloads/costcalculator.pdf

Heres a new video for you to have a look at too:

Again....any questions....fire them at me! Hope everyone on HotUKDeals has a great weekend.

Hi,

Does anyone know what happened to this product? It seems to be out of stock everywhere and the website that Eddie linked to is no longer available. I guess that it is no longer available, which is a shame as it looked like a good idea and would resolve the issues I have with parcel deliveries while at work. My local Royal Mail sorting office closes at 2pm, making it virtually impossible for anyone with a full time job to collect their mail!
