I bought these previously and they are good seeds but very few inside, sometimes only 10, but for this price, it's worth buying extra.

What does foil only with sowing instructions mean?
will not come in a pretty packet showing what the seeds are, only a little foil packet with sowing instructions typed on a separate piece of paper.

can anyone let me know please, when a select peppers, for example, after that I can adjust the number. is this the number of packets, or individual seeds? If it's the number of packets, I can't find anywhere on the site the information how many seeds are in a packet.
Not many at these prices
just wondering where my order was when I got an email from them
In total we received just under 4000 orders which our small team in Earl Soham are busily working through right now.

We anticipate all orders will have left us by next Friday the 30 of November.

Please note pashmina and seed will be shipped from Suffolk, anything else you order will be despatched from East Sussex.

As always although we try and reward our regular customers, the offer always gets picked up and put on forums.

So hello you lovely people of Hot UK Deals and MSE who have joined us for the first time.

To our regular customers thanks again for all your support, it's much appreciated.
Isn't that nice ? :D

i wudda taken this offer if i ddnt already hav 2 apple 3 cherry 2 pear 1 cranberry. and a whole lotta veg patch in my yard
agree with you porsche007 - I looked at this offer earlier, but to be able to plant 9 fruit trees you'd need a sizeable piece of land!
you would need an orchard not a garden to be able to plant tbese

Of course - where do you think seed companies get their seed? No difference, can do the same with tomatoes.
I think chillies tend to grow easier though?

Thanks bought everything I need for less than a fiver, herbs, tomatoes can recommend the sungold tomatoes which I grew this year very sweet and still growing outside.

we always grow sun gold as they are so sweet and produce enormous crops of small tomatoes excellent for salads or eating like sweets. great for kids!

too late to plant for this year?
Way too late for tomatoes, you can start them early next year (March/April).
For windowsills (inside) the herbs should be fine, just a little slow growing.

Mine arrived today, very pleased, what an excellent deal, thanks op. So good I have no idea how the company makes any money from this - many people have done a hell of a lot of work for the couple of quid they got off me. There seems to be plenty of seeds in each packet, no probs there. There's also a planting guide for those just starting out. Best before seems to be mainly 2015/2016, with some seeds packed this year. They came mainly in retail type packs (quite a surprise), but most with pictures of carrots on the front, and a sticker on the back saying what's actually inside. I had 2 substitutions out of 25 - can't complain about that. I'll get some little gems planted later and will report back on the germination of them.
I got mine on Wednesday. Couple of things were substituted, but very happy with the seeds.

This is an excellent deal - lovely range and great plants for the price. Just wondered if anyone has used this company before? I've purchased bulbs from a lot of places, but haven't had much luck with the percentage of plants that grow. Would they be as reliable and good quality as say Thompson And Morgan?

Anyway, thanks OP for the post - really good find.
@equalityforall - it's the Meleagris that's included.

I think the counter intuitive on-the-side planting for the Imperialis may be to stop the crown collecting water and rotting during the winter because the leaves die back and leave a dimple on the top.
As it is 24 Fritillaria, it is very likely to be the shorter species, Fritillaria meleagris. This can be planted similarly to other bulbs, and doesn't need putting on its side or very deep. This will often set its own seeds, and multiply this way. It's a wild flower in the UK, and looks wonderful in Cambridge, in spring time. Tried to find a pic, but can't, but they are stunning with thousands of them.
martinelsen
Can you plant these straight away?

I also assume that they return year after year (is it call perennial?).

Thanks.
Yes, these are all perennial bulbs, and will return each year. Only occasional division - splitting up clumps, is the work needed.

Most of them benefit from being planted asap, as my daffodils start rooting in the garden in August, so it gives them a good root system by the time spring comes. That way they can send lots of water to the flowers, keeping them refreshed and good for a little longer, than if they haven't got extensive root systems.

Tulips, especially if you have water-logged or clay soil, can be planted later - even November, subject to not having frosted soils. Often Tulips will rot, and putting a little sand below the bulbs will help keep them drier.

Don't know which Fritillaria is included. If it's Fritillaria meleagris, this is a shortish plant, up to 2' really,, whereas Fritillaria imperialis is much taller, and needs special planting. Plant Fritillaria imperialis bulbs on their sides : defies common sense - also plant them much deeper than you would other bulbs, up to 12'' is good.

Getting a bit late to sow some of that

Reply

The seeds will be good for next year
Wilkinson got buy 2 get 3rd free on all their seeds, I got 6 packs of reduced seeds for 95p! Didn't think I would get the buy 2 get 3rd free on reduced seeds but I did!
Delivery will be between Mon 15 - Fri 19 Jul.

Bit late old son
I did the lettuce and herbs deal from before - seed packets are definitely smaller than you'll be used to, but was plenty for a few sowings - I'd say good deal if you're more interested in planting for variety than volume.
