Pd160 air intake £85.49 @ partsworld

This deal might not be for everyone but it's the cheapest that I have found for it. Fits a variety of cars and I have just seen 2 of these go on eBay used for £80 so well worth the extra £5.50

Thank you for the education.
10,000% markup is mind blowing :-)
Tell me about it. Still not worth the money but when people are willing to buy a used one for that price because everywhere else is sell for £100 makes it a bit more reasonable
Blimey that's some mark up on a length of pipe.

This is a generic model, b+m bargains have them made by a different company but looks exactly the same. Looks cheap and nasty in my opinion and would not be surprised to hear many complaints. You get what you pay for I guess!

I agree these don't work for larger cars (over 2000cc) and die pretty fast. I found it's better to get a second battery (or keep an old one) for a power start.

Have to say thats a bit of a stereotype, I have had a wickes branded one for a few years now and it still works perfectly today, but you do have to keep them charged up! If you let it die, you will never get it back to 100% operation.

This looks a lot like the Maplin power station, which I have. Mine worked (though I never used it to jump-start anything) for a few months and then the battery stopped holding a charge. At that point iit wouldn't even light the little lamp on the front.

Could you not take it back under warranty?
Possibly. Although with such a teensy little internal battery, the chances of it turning over my car's starter were minimal - plus (when you google all the bad reviews it had) you have to continually juggle charging it - but not leaving it on charge as the cheapo charger it came with would overcook the battery. Then, when you took it off chage, in a few weeks it went flat again.
On top of that, the compressor had a scale that went (IIRC) from 0 - 200 PSI, so it was unusable to accurately inflate tyres. After that, the only thing on the unit that was any use was the little light. So I tossed the unit as being fundamentally junk and bought a torch instead ;(
It simply wasn't worth the faffing around and the garage-space it took up.

I have a large freelander and used it a few times!
