It's all been said before with patio heaters.

If you are that worried about global warming - save electricity and switch your PC off. Hey you could even go plant a tree instead of being on here.;-)

Switch off 50 or 60 PCs and you might just save the energy wasted by one of those!

Dead right, and now you are winding them up again for another ear bashing.

I'm not of that pursuasion - just making an observation.

Isn't the sale of these about to be made illegal (IIRC) and that's why they are being sold off??
#15
Thank you bazr my mistake

Yeah, I think that's the case. However, the ever-increasing cost of gas may ultimately render them obsolete in any event.

If you want to sit out on your patio on a chilly night, wear warmer clothing:p

There was a report last year that said if you compared typical useage, an LCD or Plasma screen TV was far more 'polluting'. Mine certainly does a better job than the radiator.

Go and have a look in your local store if you're that interested you fool.

Thats a bit rude. I couldn't find it either until I used the link that was kindly provided. You know it is very frustrating when searching for a product with no description, brand name or reference number.

Cold - so cold.

Classic Daily Mail misinterpretation, they were saying that for the amount a household uses a tv over the period over a year a heater will ouput less for it's usage over a year, now let's see, tv = 3 hours a day 300 days a year, heater = 4 hours over 5 days per year, well of course it uses less energy, you could make the same statement comparing the space shuttle to a long distance haulage lorry.

yeah, that's what 'typical useage' means, but you have to put it in perspective. It don't make any difference in the great scheme of things.

Yawn... Yet more cack just because its another patio heater deal. Tell ya what, I dont want a patio heater as I dont have a patio, but I'm gonna heat this deal up just to annoy the propoganda fuelled halfwits who cant resist crying every time someone turns a plug on! C'mon, peeps, heat this deal up! :p

I hadn't thought of that one - nice idea, especially when you want to make the most of the sun being out.

This forum is about deals isn't it? Not for debate about whether a product is harmful or not. This is a good deal, so heat added.
#34
I don't get these things. If it gets cold go inside, or put on a jumper! Much cheaper! What next, Patio Air Con for when it gets too hot?

MMM you might be onto something there !!

Seriously, just because YOU don't get it, it does not mean that other don't too.
A deal has been posted and people should vote on whether this is a good price/hot deal, not preach to people about whether or not they can buy it. It should be voted cold if it can be bought for less elsewhere or perhaps it not a particular good model perhaps.
If you are not interested in this as a deal then do not vote.

I personally am not interested in deals on computers and computer games, so I simply do not read them. I would not vote them cold because I did not want to buy.
Nor would I preach to others that using pcs, tvs, monitors, games consoles were a waste of electricty. That is not my place.
#36
Excellent price. Can't imagine they'll be many left in store so good luck if you're going for it. Heated accordingly (excuse the pun!)

You're forgetting one of the key rules of sandal-wearers. Not doing Something Very Bad For The Planet oneself is insufficient. Its compulsory to whine at everyone else about it too!
If they'd have been born a couple of thousand years back they'd be ideal recruits for the flagellists...

Delightfully impartial. Nobody here ever mentions the massive 'it's not happening' propaganda stupidity (generally created by people who don't know, don't care, e.g. Clarkson, or the 'I like oil money' crew). Personally, I'm with the anti-patio-heater halfwits, and science.

Nice design. Voted hot.
Did consider buying one but it was pointed out to me that if it's cold outside we'll just come inside....I had no argument...
