If there's one thing cats won't do, it's scratch something you want them to scratch - like this! :-D

(or cheese and onion crisps and country ham)...

I can't tell if you mean you feed that to him now or not? But be careful if you do, onion (even in flavouring) is really bad for cats!

really? my cat is almost 3 stones...take it its goint to be waaaaayyyy to small for him then.......hmmm...maybe I will keep shopping about.... Thanks for that.....

Holy macaroni !!! That’s half the size of an Alsatian !!!

Don’t want to meet that in a dark ally …. Or a well lit one for that matter - that is a seriously big cat.

:o:shock::o:shock:

This scratching post is only suitable for kittens and very small cats, go to pet world for bigger ones – but they cost an arm and a leg, though if you don’t, I expect your cat will have yours instead!

no he never got cheese and onion crisps...he hangs about if Im eating them though....no nothing like that for him anymore.....just the odd wee treat ...now fresh chicken breast instead of custard.... but thanks for that I didnt know onion was bad for cats?

Yup!

Onions, Garlic, & Related Root Vegetables Onions contain a substance (N-propyl disulphide) which destroys red blood cells in the cat, causing a form of anemia called Heinz body anemia. Garlic contains a similar substance in a lesser amount.

He's done to you what all cats do to their owners (me included) - put them in their place

Thanks for the advice, my cat loves garlic although it's not as though we feed it to her I'll watch out for that.

Agree, though mine does still get some limited use from it as high up vantage point and does use the scratchers! Yes kittens would get better use out of it.

I'd suggest leaving your brain out for them to snack on, but then even a bluebottle would still be hungry after consuming it. :whistling: :-D

My cat learnt that if she tapped you on the knee or shoulder then she'd get some of food you were eating (and she'd eat pretty much anything).
Cheesestrings and crisps, especially cheese & onion were her absolute favourite - sometimes if she was in such a hurry to eat then she'd try and grab it before I got it in your mouth!!

At the time it's funny/cute but waking up to her having a heart attack on the way to the vets makes you regret givin them all these 'treats'. She was 'only' around 1.1 stone too!

I went to a friends house last week and they have a diabetic dog, and a cat so fat that it had to take a break after climbing two steps. It really is cruel :(

You're lucky, my cat is the fussiest snob known to humankind, will only eat what she wants to eat, hates most meat, loves cheese (and I know it's bad for her, we only use it for tablets), smoked mackerel, smoked salmon although she did go batsh*t when I made a mushroom risotto last night but that might have been the parmesan I put on top.

Everyone with a cat owes it to themselves to trade it in for a Dog.

Take it the vet, he'll put it down for you.

I've got 2 big cats but they are ragdolls so meant to be big.....and fluffy. I think they would probably topple one of these!

A cardboard box is just as much fun for a cat and cheaper.
