O2 shop have a payg samsung E1080 for £9.99.
Quidco offer £10 cashback for payg phones from o2.
Cex are offering £6.00 cash or £8 credit.
Hope this helps someone........

An alternative to the Samsung E1080 is the Nokia 1800, which can be found here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/unlocked-payg-mobiles-lgs101-nokia-1800-now-1p-plus-10-orange-vodafone-topup-e2s/865258. Basically, pay £10.01 for an unlocked phone with £10 top up, get up to £10 cashback, then trade the phone into CEX for £9 cash or £12 trade in!

What are the chances that quidco will track? Most of the time ive tried it didnt track
2 Likes #4
hot! but 'to make a profit' you would have to rely on quidco paying which is often hit and miss
#5
Lot of effort for £6 and a bit of gamble at that.
#6
O2 shop is terrible for tracking, i have had to manually put in my last 3 claims off there.
#7
I've never successfully gotten cashback through Quidco with O2 (or any other mobile sites) so I personally wouldn't bother. Good deal if you're lucky enough for it to work though!

Needed an o2 phone for my dad. Free via quidco... thanks!

Nice little phone. I'm guessing it'll come locked to o2. Would a tesco sim work seeing they use o2's network?

The Nokia 1800 on this thread: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/unlocked-payg-mobiles-lgs101-nokia-1800-now-1p-plus-10-orange-vodafone-topup-e2s/865258 is a better offer. I have a phone locked to O2 and I have used a Tesco sim card & I am currently using a GiffGaff sim card, which also uses the O2 network.

I think topup needs to be purchased in order to get cashback from quidco. Last time I puchased sony ericcson elm from o2 and it never tracked, I put a manual claim and never got a penny. Thn I remember reading someone on hukd stating that cashback will not be paid unless topup is purchased.

Good deal. Yes O2 not the best at tracking, but they have ALWAYS paid me my due CashBack! In last 12 months had £280 from O2!
05 Jul 2010 O2 0.00 25.00 Paid
05 Jul 2010 O2 15.00 75.00 Paid
05 Jul 2010 O2 15.00 75.00 Paid
05 Jul 2010 O2 0.00 25.00 Paid
05 Jul 2010 O2 Home Broadband 0.00 80.00 Paid

The 2 for £25 & £75 didn't track correctly as should have been £100 for 2 x 12 month sim only contracts, but they did pay out total promised after I submitted a querey. Also had similar amounts year before too.!

Got one of these on orange just before xmas from currys for £10 and then used the £5 discount voucher so got it for £5. Its only a spare for business use so does the job fine, but I will say the screen is poor quality, especially when you look at something of a similar price such as the Nokia 1800.

I cannot see any conditions on Quidco to say that you need to top-up to get cashback - although I'm not entirely sure what it means when it says "single commission per order basis"
The alternative might be to buy the phone @ £9.97 and then add either a Glam Rox Sock (black/purple) @ £4.08 and hope that Quidco tracks for £15 CB ( £15 for PAYG handsets bought with an accessory) ?

Needless to say, the phone is a basic one - the sort you might want to keep as a spare or in case of emergency (e.g. in the cars' glove box) or for a younger child etc. Other networks always seem to have "better" offers with higher spec phones at cheap prices. I have been a customer of O2 for over 15 years and wouldn't change networks, but I sometimes wish they would be a bit more competative with the price of PAYG handsets. :{

Totally agree, mine several orders even was rejected by O2 saying the payment was gone to another cash back website which is complete ****.

hot deal if quidco tracks. :)

Its available on Carphone Warehouse for £7.95 + £10 Top Up for O2 or £4.95 + £10 Top Up for Virgin. Quidco £5. But the main thing here is that phone will be unlocked.

Don't know if this was there at time of posting but Quidco says £10 on handsets costing £20 or more:

£10

for Pay-As-You-Go (single commission per order of a handset costing £20 or more)
#32
The Quidco O2 page now reads:
£10 for Pay-As-You-Go (single commission per order of a handset costing £20 or more)
Did it say this when this offer first came out?

NO, it didn't...
#34
No it didn't....
They have amended both the £10 and £15.00 - making it a condition that the handset cost £20 or more!
#35
I've looked and Quidco have given me £3.50 cashback in the transaction queue.
Anyone going to complain?
#36
BE CAREFUL NOW............. as mentioned ,They changed the rules to £20 handset !!..... no surprises why ....wonder if they will say it was there ALL ALONG !!!.............oO
#37
Quidco T&C's for O2 have changed. It didn't mention over £20 before.

Mine has also tracked at £3.50.

According to the information:
Cashback may track in at a lower rate than advertised. This will be updated to the full cashback amount upon validation.

So the good news is that quidco has tracked. Bad news is that O2 might try to weasel out saying the phone is too cheap
#38
Mine arrived today. Quidco not tracked as £10 flat cashback.

The handset is locked; Does not work with Orange sim which I've just tried. Will try with T-Mobile and confirm.

Any suggestions on unlocking? Lots of rubbish "advice" from google.
#39
Looks like the quidco for O2 has changed again. Now it's no longer £10 cashback for PAYG mobile - nor £10 cashback for PAYG mobile costing over £20. Now it £10 Cashback for PAYG (£5 for the handset and an additional £5 when you activate the handset/sim)
