From today in orange stores (not online) £20 off orange san francisco, white or dark grey, bringing it down to £79.99

It is still £99.99 online

£20 top up is compulsory, but unlike the argos deal which seems to be out of stock almost everywhere, £10 of the credit doesn't expire after a month,

You'll also be able to choose an animal bundle you could get free texts, internet or calls according to your preference, the like of dolphin would give 600 free texts & free web for a month and you'd still have the £20 credit

I think they are doing £20 off all androids instore

I know people are getting fed up with all the san francisco deals lately but most of them are expired now

Free to unlock ,root & install custom ROM

Does anybody honestly stay on Orange's rubbish payg tariff? Extra credit is meaningless to any sensible people who buy one of these to unlock.
#5
Not having used an android phone, but couldn't you use the extra credit for apps and stuff before dumping the sim out? (until needed for orange wednesdays cinema offer maybe.)

You can use the credit for mobile betting as well.

When I got this phone I was shocked how easy it was to unlock after all the hassle I went through with my previous Nokia phones!

How long is the credit valid for?

This, also how does the credit come as? Already on the phone or as a card.

The credit is applied as a top up to a simcard or if you are already on orange you can get the credit added on to your own number

Cold voters,I already am aware you don't want to see anymore san francisco deals, but if you can point me in the direction to buy one of these cheaper, especially the grey handset, then please do,

I know prepaymania have them/claim to have them in stock and there is quidco available, but they have £10 credit only and they are charging £99.99 too,

very/additions direct etc are out of stock of grey and again there's is £10 cred

As previously said, even if you dont want the credit it can always be used for something,be it online gambling or a charity donation

I'll await some of the cold voters giving a link to a better current offer which is in stock

i hate the fact u are forced to buy 20 topup, also a bit annoyed orange have stopped other retailers selling these, such as CPW or argos,

Also, these are without doubt the tft version, they cut loads of costs, yet the phone is still more expensive than before? pffftt
#13
Almost everyone hates the forced top ups,but to be fair the networks do need to do this,

Still waiting to hear from the cold voters where you can buy this cheaper :p
#14
Just a word of warning - there have been reports on the modaco forum of the unlock calculators are not working on the very newest phones. They can still be unlocked but it involves flashing ROMs & a bit of hacking. Not for the timid!
#15
I phoned up Orange and they knocked me £30 off their website price. Not guaranteed to work but I got lucky. :)

anyone know where the new unlockable ones are being sold ?

didn't vote cold, but can be had for marginally over £10 cheaper via Tesco & discount code

Probably only useful to those that have no intention of using the Orange credit.

Great deal! Been debating getting one of these since late last year (when the OLEDs were first out, should have got one then but oh well!) Finally picked one up today and so glad I did! Great phone, can't fault it for the price, rooted and installed a froyo rom with no problems whatsoever, quick and easy to do.

With the £20 credit it's supposed to go on the new sim - first I went to the Orange shop in Cardiff on Queen Street (near M&s) no signs to show this deal but guy checked and told me it was on, but would only put the credit onto a blank sim. So I left it and went to the smaller orange shop down the road in capitol and the woman who served us was great, they had the offers up and I explained we have a few pay monthly and payg phones in the family and asked if I could put the £20 on a payg phone so it;s not wasted and she was fine with it. Even left it as a top up code so i could use it on any phone.

Again, great phone, thanks for posting op!

Have they? Isn't it just that they sold so well that they ran out? Plenty still around at Argos, if you check the stores.

As for unlocking, isn't the supposed problem on the later phones more to do with flashing than unlocking?

It's not just a "supposed" problem but a real one. Some 0B10 examples have been no trouble at all while others happily accept various ROM flashes but do not reliably boot every time with the touch capability enabled for the screen. Avoiding multiple reboots (until the touchscreen works properly) when turning on is probably easiest avoided by never turning it off once it's working properly.

Other symptoms have also been reported with these new 0B10 versions which typically involve complications in achieving the first flash - but perseverance and intelligent twiddling seem to win the day in such cases.

I haven't seen any reports of unlocking problems and agree that mazsuper may have the wrong end of the stick.

Orange have plenty of these in stock, and according to manager of cpw these are now orange shop exclusives, so i am just going by this, hope it isnt true as that sucks
