description misleading:

Successfully top-up £10 in a calendar month and we'll give you 100 minutes to use from the UK to call landlines and mobile networks in the UK to use during the following month. We'll send you a text to let you know you've earned the reward.

therefore the price would be not 39.99 it would be 99.99

otherwise it is a very good deal, cheaper than a GPS unit...How is the battery life of this phone ?
#2
Can't be bad at this price.
The 6 months web access and a 2Gb memory card would cost almost that if bought on their own!

Don't forget your £5 via Quidco.....

Decent phone and spec for the price. Bought it a couple of months ago when TJ Hughes were selling for £40. Not quite as good as the Vodafone 845 (bought it few days ago and came unlocked even though Vodafone branded) that you can get from Tesco at £44 including £10 top up voucher but with the free 6 months internet might be better value (depending on what you have to do and pay to get this offer).

An excellant introduction to smart phones. I had one for 6 weeks, but the battery was awful. Good deal for what you get though.

Does anyone know when this deal is likely to expire? I'm wondering if it's today only or if they'll keep it at this price until they run out of stock?
#8
vodafone 845 is OOS Stuart9787 but good point

What version of Android it is running, 1.6?
Can it be upgraded to 2.1?
#10
Can I use this as a wifi tether for a tablet or PC?
#11
can credit on a t-mobile payg sim be transferred to a t-mobile contract phone?

Very sure it comes with 2.1; if for some reason it didn't, you can definitely and easily upgrade to 2.1 through T-Mobile.
#13
Is 6 month free internet tied to handset or SIM?
i.e. can this be used with other T-mobile SIM only SIM card which has no internet on it to gain 6 month of free internet?
banned#14
bought it, but topcashback only tracked at £5.05!!
it is gonna be a hassle to get them to adjust the cashback amount

Cold for misleading title and still not changed
#21
looks good to me at the money i just dont see how you can go wrong and if you dont like the phone mazzuma will take it off yours hands at £28 cach £30 argos vouchers and you will will still have the sim and a 2gb card
#22
free internet is on the sim.the handset the sim is used in does not matter.
#23
Great price but the poor reviews have scared me away. I think this phone is a bit of a false economy.

Also whats with the "No GPS unless you pay for it". Theres plenty of free GPS apps for Android, you don't have to use the bundled one that runs out after a month.

It's a great phone for the price, but I don't think it actually has Wi-Fi.

Are you sure it has Wifi?
T-mobile website does not list it has WIFI.

Update: This says it does not have wifi
Like the E110, the Pulse Mini lacks Wi-Fi, but does offer HSDPA for 3G Web browsing.

That link is for a different phone (the bigger Pulse). It could be possible to overclock the Pulse Mini, but why bother? the resistive touchscreen is so poor it would still be a miserable experience for everyday use. This is a very much a budget phone. Great value for wifi+bluetooth+6 months web but I wouldn't use is as your main phone.

I was going to buy this phone just to play around with Android. But sadly resistive screen is pretty much a deal breaker for me ;(

can credit on a t-mobile payg sim be transferred to a t-mobile contract phone?

anyone? also, is there any way to avoid the topup if you are already a t-mobile customer?

also also, does anyone who bought this phone have any thoughts on it? i was contemplating getting one as a gift but reviews vary quite dramatically.

I doubt they will transfer, but you can try calling CS and see what they say.
You may be able to avoid £10 topup if you phone them and order it via phone, but you will miss cashback via Quidco/top cashback, if you do so.

Why what do intend to use it for, and will it make such a differance in the use s of this device? Arent all the types of technologies for touch screens very similar? After all, it only 40 quid. Plus you very are getting a 3.2 camera with xeon flash. Where are you goign to get that? I thought Tesco LG pop was on at a good offer of 40 quid with 20 quid call time, sadly missed that one. But this has a 3.2camera with xeon flash, and runs android. Sounds allot better

Hi,

Robot1000 - thanks for correction :D

I have recieved my T Mobile Pulse today and have Rooted and Overclocked to 710mhz from 528mhz

I have used this link:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802893

Basically there are two files:

TCT_RLS4d - This is the 1st Main Flash
TCT_tmo_u8110_update_2 - This is the second flash, you will need this to get network signal

Once you have done this, the phone is set up to default cpu of 631mhz, get cpuset to overclock it to a max level of 748mhz (i have tried it myself to 748 and it crashes, but happy at 710mhz)

All simple notes are on screen, note to install the second file repeat the process of install from sd.

Also for the peeps who was'nt sure about wifi - yes it has got it :D

Going to order another :D - Super bargin onced Rooted and OC'd
