too bad it only lasts 30 days.

80GB of data? That is something. If only there were a few extra minutes & less texts included, would definately go for. Heat added.
#3
This would be perfect, got about 8 months left on my contract though :(
#4
This sounds pretty good. I've got an iPhone 3G and would like to tether my new iPad 2 wifi to it but stay on PAYG.
#5
could i put this into my MIFI device? to replace the contract one ive got..

id rather pay £15 a month payg for 80Gb instead of £12,50 contract a month for 9Gb (or whatever it is at the mo)
#6
So the tethering is all included in that £15 option? I can't see it on the site. I assume it will work with an iPhone? Silly question maybe but some operators like to charge more for iPhone data

I wonder if any Quidco is available?
#7
I know 3 get a lot of abuse but I get a great speed with them at home and work so I might be tempted to buy an iphone if I can use this in it. Hot deal if its for you.

I use a Three mobile data sim in my San Francisco and listen to streaming radio when I am out and about. I get great signal and only the occaisional hiccup in the stream, I can easily listen for an hour without missing a single beat or word so they get the thumbs up from me.
#9
There's me looking for a replacement while I am out and about, that is more than enough for laptop tethering! Can't be bad can it.....???

Yes just swap it over to a mobile if you wanna use the call/texts, tried mine in my MiFi and it worked, bargain really even without using the call text allowance

Hopefully Three will follow O2 and do away with separate tethering charges, but for now the terms and conditions indicate:

"Tethering a phone to a laptop for Internet use is not included in this deal"

See: http://www.three.co.uk/Help_Support/Terms_and_Conditions?content_aid=1214305745843

Great for an iPad or iPhone though :)

It says you cant tether... doesn't say anything about using it in a dongle or in a laptop... :{

They'll never know if you tether.

Data is data. Screw them and their conditions. As long as we're within the limits, who cares. It's just a ploy to rip us off.

If you top up with 15 can you only access the 80Gb of data until the end of that month? I'm wondering if this would be good for the ipad but as I use wifi a lot it would only be worthwhile if there was no need to keep topping up in order to access the data allowance. In other words, does it carry over beyond a month?
#20
Bloody hell, amazing price
#21
Do you need to jailbreak your iPhone to have it on 3's network?

I've got an iPhone 4 and am currently with O2 on PAYG. This offer looks bloody good though. So that's your monthly allowance, as long as you keep topping up £15 a month? How would I go about switching networks? Is it as simple as popping in the new micro-sim card and following the included instructions?
#22
shame there customer service and network is poor O2 and vodafone I prefer
#23
so what is this it doedsnt seem clearyou get 80-gb for a month only? so what happens after that im slightly confused.

THEIR customer service may be worse than other networks, however I'd much rather pay half the amount than go to a rival network, and take that risk, or in this case, have no other option due to Three being the only network to offer more than 1GB.
I personally found Three's customer services to be brilliant, I spoke to them about porting my number, cancelling my 1 month rolling contract early, and getting a PAC code and each were done with no problems and delays, while O2 in my experiences were horrible.

I'm now with Orange who gives me worse signal in Norwich where I live than Three did, with O2 being far, far behind both of them

Call o2 ask for PAC to take number to 3, call 333 from 3 sim and give PAC - number ports over

LOL o2 have the worst 3G and by a fraction nearly missed passing Ofcom's 3G licence coverage agreement.

3UK have the best 3G coverage & on payg you never need to call customer services as there is no billing issues, 3Stores are more willing to help payg customers and not fob you to India care

You top it up again for another £15. If you are going to use shed loads of data, this is a great deal, if not then there are other options on this site.
#28
By the way I agree with seaniboy re 3. They were crap 10 years ago but they have got their act together and I find them much much better than O2,

I was with O2 for 6 years and have to say they were the worst customer sevrice I ever dealt with, if there pay monthly was not so cheap at the time I would have jumped ship... and please do not get me started on yodaphone, pmsl..... you will get better reception by using the force...
#32
by the way got a mifi off ebay for £42 delivered and then added this sim and worked fine with my sony vaio and also Asus :) hot form me :P
#33
Why do folk say their customer services are bad ? Ok, you end up talking to an Indian lady with pigeon English, but Ive always found them helpful AND generous - had a few freebies because of issues.
Damn sight better service than I get from my bank, gas company and government !
#34
It seems my mobile on three will be unable to use its "free calls for life" on skype from next week.

The indians are paid peanuts to waste your time until you go away.

The signal is so poor the phone often needed left on window sills and used with a BT headset. It now has a case with a velcro back so it can stick to curtains or use a little clamp.

Three are a waste of space.

They could offer 290379237GB free a day - but if you dont get the signal in their "best coverage area" then prepare to waste time, as the indians cannot fix the unfixable.
#35
Not a bad deal.

However with GiffGaff you get truly unlimted data (plus 250 mins per month) for £10 topup.

Works great in my 3GS, however you are not allowed to tether, as far as I know.

Has been a great service and have been on it for 6 months.

Also I had a 3 modem thingy a while ago and the cutomer service stank.

I have the 3 Mifi dongle, a smartphone with O2, a smartphone with T-Mobile/Orange and recently just disconnected my line with Voda.

Without any shadow of a doubt has 3 come on top in terms of service and data speeds. Voda was a close second although it cost me close to double a month and the data allowance offered was meagre. I was also repeatedly lied to by their customer services department so in the end I cancelled 3 lines with them and replaced them with T-Mobile connections.
T-Mobile come in a good solid third in terms of performance with O2 being the worst service in terms of 3G by a long shot. To be honest, I don't even know why I still have an active line with them, they're totally unsuitable for use with a modern smartphone..... (and I live and work in Central London :( )

I'm on three since 2005, they have improved their service. Since then I've tried many networks for data (which is important to me) but nothing is closer to Three, in my experience. Recently I signed up (upgraded) for one plan - £15 for existing customers and it is all I need for data, which can be shared to my iPad / iPhone and daughter's iPod touch.

This is the speed I usually get around London (evenings slightly lower)

As three begin to offer more and more customers " all you can eat data " will it not begin to struggle and slow down? :/
#39
O2 include tethering since Monday.
I was with 3 for a month.
The signal was dire. The Internet was snails pace. It also kept roaming to everything anywhere's edge service with a 10 second transisition to and from because 3 don't have enough masts themselves.
#40
just phones up customer service for three. I am currently on £15.99 pay monthly with 1 month notice price plan which offer 5Gb of data. She said that all-you-can-eat data only limiti to 15Gb (fair usage) but she has upgraded the 5Gb to 15Gb with same price I pay per month and also a rolling 1 month contract, not bad.
