Not looked into this much to see if everything goes together, but is a good price even without the deal and freebies.

-Go through quidco (or any cashback site) to get £5 off an Orange phone.
-Click on the link under the photo to get the student deal (anyone can use if you put 18 numbers in the box! e.g. 000000676578888976)
-Possible hands free kit but maybe not in the same deal?! (http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/packages_payg?WT.ac=ACSPPGO_3R) [3rd one along]
-Pay for £10 credit at checkout bringing the deal to £34 after quidco.
-Tesco selling for £97.86 (http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2375.aspx) with no credit on the same network!
-£10 free credit at orange when you switch (http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/show/offer/switch-to-orange?WT.ac=ACSPPGO_4C) [not certain if applies with this deal]
-Get £1 free credit from Orange when you register.

Hope this is alright- it's my first time! You can also get a LG KS360 for about £47 or something with these deals.

Arguably not a deal but a superb blag.
You have my full admiration for enlightening me to vendor's extreme incompetence, or should that be shrewd marketing to secure sales?

I wish these were unlockable.

Why aren't people using my link to avoid the student thing alltogether?

Don't forget:

Mmm...from a legal perspective your probably going to drop yourself in it, especially if Orange check out the student number to confirm it's valid.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

^^ Yay I'm so glad it worked! Good on you!

And you can get them unlocked at markets or online sometimes for about a tenner!

I would have loved to have tried this out, but think orange have banned me from buying, for trying something similar to this last year...
#9
no harm in trying m8
just got email conformation,so it looks promising

After a few texts finally found someone in the family who needs a mobile on Orange as for now this isn;t unlockable, I just ordered fine via quidco, using my direct link above, without the need for a NUS number. £5 quidco for me :)
#11
£5 quidco tracked for me aswell
#12
For the OP, this is £50-£70 on other networks, so a saving yes, but not a huge one really:

can you get these unlocked?
#15
not so much, but you also get £21 worth of credit and a hands free kit in the price. Paying £49.95 at Carphone Warehouse would mean you still need to pay for the credit and hands free.

Does this apply for all phones

Deal price needs to show price without Quidco

Don't unlock phones, use a wafer from deal extreme (unless you can get it done for free). They're about £4 or £5 and you can move it to your next phone. I've got a i-SmartSim 2008 and it works a treat on all the phones I've tried it on (although they were all Sony Ericssons).

A lot of messing around to save around a tenner on a very average looking/spec phone, don't think deals should be posted with the quidco/or other similar reduction as it's misleading and not everyone wants to use them.

I already have an Orange Nokia PAYG and wouldn't mind upgrading to this. Would I need to get this phone unlocked or activated in some way to accept my sim card or can I just put my sim into this and rock and roll. I'm not techno minded so please no jargon.

#25
how do you get the handsfree kit free. Does it come with the phone automatically or do you have to add it.
#26
ignore my last post.

i figured out where i went wrong. Did not choose dolphin, so the headset was not automatically added.
#27

How do you get the £10 discount? I use the code 000000676578888976 in the promotional box and it says this is not valid? Am I entering it in the wrong box? If so, where should I enter it?

My cousin, who is a student, was looking through the terms and conditions & found the following statement, which is relevant (especially for those who are not students) when buying it...just bear it in mind before you buy.

"Orange reserves the right to remove the Promotion from your account and/or ask you to refund the discount if it considers that you have breached any of the Promotion terms and conditions and/or any of the Orange standard network Terms and Conditions."

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Only if you have something (2nd hand remember) that you want from CEX.
Otherwise, what's their cash price? That's the only figure I compare with (assuming they ever have cash in their tills...)

I got charged £39 on 2 seperate transactions on my credit card, £10 and £29. Is that right?

my phone arrived today.

Unusually it cam in its original nokia box - unusual for me because normally when i buy a phone from orange it comes in one of their boxes. So i am thinking - does this mean that the phone may be unlocked?

I dont want to open mine and see as i am giving it as a gift to my cousin.

So can anyone who got theirs today, else tell me if it comes unlocked or if it is locked to orange
