Hmmmmm,
Not to belittle the OP

But the A62s were £4.99 a few months ago after qudico straight from Orange.
I know cos I ordered 3...
Useful spare PAYG's for the family and can be picked up for £7ish including delivery from Oranges eBay store

3110's to me seem over priced but thats cos I got the 3100's ages ago for a tenner
the L6 being the only good deal there imho

Reading between the lines... it sounds like the phones are IMEI locked to Orange in some way. Is that for life or just for the first time it registers on the network:

Q Can I use an existing Orange PAYG Sim card with these phones?
A No, all handsets must be registered with the Sim that comes with them.

All orange phones are locked to orange but they are also blocked from orange incase they are stolen in transit
explanation: the phones are obviously locked to the orange network until unlocked, they've been doing that for years.

But to use a new/refurb phone on orange from orange u must register it, what this does is take your new sim and activate the sim number on their network and take your new phones imei number and remove it from the orange blacklist that was blocking it from working on the orange network.

you could just get the phone, unlock it and use it on another network, but it would remain on the orange blacklist and the orange sim would not in anotherphone as that would not be registered, also orange might see it was never registered assume theft and consider passing the imei number for it to be blocked on all networks.

I wanted to put a contract sim in mine, but I'm guessing once I get the phone to register it and the PAYG sim with Orange and then it should be fine?
#13
yes fatboy, it can take 24hours for Orange to remove your new phone off their blacklist

I got one of these for a £5 a while back - was going to use it as 2nd phone but to be honest it was so horrible I sold it on Ebay.

Got this, condition wasn't brilliant but unlocked to Orange fine, didn't need to register it.
