If you go to https://coupons.paypal.com it directs you to https://shopping.paypal.com/index.
I presume this is a legit site and not a scam site.

I also think the offer is legit as I logged in via PayPal first then clicked the offer and it said I wasn't eligible. Basically the site already knew I was logged in so again this must be legit as it never asked for me to login separately.

I dont like ebay any more than anyone else, but what is the alternative? Along with Paypal, they have a monopoly, so have free license to behave how they want!

I asked for suggestions earlier but none with forthcoming.

For face to face sales gumtree or preloved. Gumtree is owned by Ebay I think. :|

You can use forums for certain items, eg AVForums, or here.

More interesting for committed sellers, seems Facebook are going to be challenging eBays model.

Just went through the Paypal free returns.
I ordered the PS4 game World of Final Fantasy Day One edition and SimplyGames.com sent loads of people including myself the regular edition instead (and deleted the tweets at them about it). They eventually agreed to a return but didn't want to pay the £7 or so delivery charge so I filled in the form and sent it off. It was fairly simple, requiring a photo and tracking information.
I didn't hear back within 5 working days as they promised, so about 8 working days on I followed up. The next day they sent me a payment for the delivery cost.

thanks for the info, I also make a claim over a week ago so it's almost 8 working days for me now and I haven't heard back anything from them.
I received a faulty item from the seller and have to return as the repair cost will be more than the price of the item. This offer will help me with the return postage.
Thanks OP.

Deany - I've been using iZettle for over 2 years now in my cab with no problems what-so-ever. They pay out after 2 business days.
Just because PayPal are the biggest company doesn't mean they're the best. Bigger does not always make better.

Yep I hadn't heard of iZettle till today and agree with what you say I think with money though its nice to have a well known brand.
Also as you will know its becoming mandatory for London Black Cabs to offer card payments and PayPal are TFL approved:
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/taxi (as are iZettle to be fair)

Anyone had trouble with this? I filled in the form but heard nothing back and its been over a week now.
I had problems but not being Ignored! After a couple of days they came back to say that as the reason for return was "faulty" I should claim from the supplier. It took a few emails to convince them it was my mistake and I meant "not suitable for my desired use"

shame amazon doesn't do this for their marketplace sellers, bought a hoody it arrived too large was told i had to pay postage back by recorded delivery (even though they sent standard) cost £5 instead of refunding they proceeded to send me the correct size which was yet the wrong size again meaning i had to pay another £5 to send it back and 3rd time lucky nope they have now sent me xxxxS which they don't even list that they have for sale so im nearly out of pocket 3x of what the hoody cost to buy in the first place and every time they just send 2nd class standard to me :/
Ever thought of buying clothes in the high street?

You can't send people money or use it to buy goods etc if its through another paypal account (on ebay it has to be the 'buy it now' type of purchase from a company). Got it and its pretty much useless as I wanted to use it kinda like a normal credit card where you choose what and where you spend your money. Also they make a 'hard' investigation into your credit history meaning you lose points for a time but if you do well and use it and keep everything inline they don't add anything to your credit rating ever. What is the point in this when you can just get a normal credit card I don't know.

Of course they do the same credit search as a credit card etc they are offering you credit, so of course they are going to ensure you have the ability to repay, they're not just going to start dishing out money to everyone

HEAT! Exceptional deal! Could be particularly useful for people who are considering taking a risk on Chinese phones from the likes of Gearbest - now, if something DOES go wrong with the phone, or it's DOA and you're forced to send it back to China for a refund, the return shipping charges won't be so hard to swallow.

TIP: If you sign into your Paypal account first, and then click back through to this offer through the HUKD page, it gives the amount as £15 (not euros).

still use caution my 3 month old Ulefone Vienna gave up the ghost. Royal Mail said the lithium ion battery was prohibited and PayPal says it isn't covered by their protection policy.

Same here. Submitted 2 claims so far, one yesterday and one over a week ago. No reply for either despite the T&C's on the offer page stating: "Confirmation of receipt of your Refund request: the same day (or the first business day after your Refund request if it was received after 5 PM GMT or on a non-business day)"
They have a contact email ([email protected].) so Im going to ask for an update but Im not holding my breath

Replying to myself and in case this helps anyone else .... after sending them an email asking for an update I got confirmation first thing the next morning saying that my claim would be paid.

how you gonna pay using credit card for a private seller on ebay ?
You can pay using your credit card via paypal, that should afford you better protection than this.
But this wont offer your better protection, please read what NiceButDim wrote above.
This deal will provide you with exactly the same protection though.

This deal, in principle is very good. But it is one of the biggest goose chases I've had to go through! Why is buying it online and logging into your Paypal so difficult. There is always an error message and is extremely frustrating!

Not sure what the issue is, my web browser remembers my paypal login details and I get in no problems. The only 'hassle' I have is I have to manually add money to my paypal account as I no longer have a linked card on the account. My bank transfers the money instantly and paypal allows me to spend it just as fast.

I know your pain. I tried multiple times on different days. In the end i got fed up with it and phoned customer service. They put me on hold confirmed some security details and asked me to log back in and then it worked.

Thinking they had fixed it i went back on to buy another £100 voucher and it went back to rejecting me again. I Can't fault customer service but the transaction system is so frustrating.

PayPalIn just a few years, PayPal has risen to become a household name among internet users. Founded in the late 1990s in California’s Silicon Valley, PayPal was bought by eBay in 2002, and began expanding across the world. By 2010, there were over 100 million active PayPal accounts worldwide, while in 2012 the firm processed over $145 billion in payments. PayPal: Pay Everywhere

The PayPal Services

To set up a PayPal account, users need to go to www.paypal.com and provide the required information. All personal accounts are linked to e-mail addresses, so that when you make a purchase, all you need to do is enter your address, instead of credit or debit card information.

PayPal offers a range of services to their customers, including:

  • Personal payment services – Customers can set up personal accounts that enable them to store money online in a range of currencies. These accounts can also be linked to tablets or mobiles, allowing you to shop with them in conventional retail stores, and you can receive money from any contact, anywhere in the world.
  • PayPal Credit – There is also an option to pay with credit, allowing PayPal’s customers to take out overdrafts and pay them back later. This includes 0% interest for the first 4 months on all purchases over £150 in value, this deal can be used as many times as you wish.
  • Business services – PayPal has become a major player in financing eCommerce operations. Companies can sign up to accept PayPal payments on their stores, take Chip and PIN payments at their bricks and mortar locations, create invoices easily and even borrow money to supplement their cashflow.
  • Partners and Developers – PayPal partners with coders and developers in creating cutting edge apps and code for online sellers. Innovative retailers can partner with PayPal Developer to introduce custom code into their website.

Making a Purchase Using PayPal

Signing up with PayPal is simple. Go to the UK website at www.paypal.co.uk and click “Sign up.” Now, choose a personal account, type in your e-mail address and a password, and you’re ready to go.

Using PayPalYou can now head to your PayPal dashboard, where you can manage your account and add credit or debit card accounts. That way, you can transfer money into and out of your PayPal account easily. However, adding cards is not an instant process. PayPal requires verification that you are the owner of the card, and you may need to enter information from a recent bank statement before being able to complete the process.

Once your cards are linked to your PayPal account, you can start making purchases. When you see the PayPal logo at a checkout page, simply enter the e-mail address you linked to your PayPal account and the payment will be made. It will show up as soon as the payment is processed as an invoice in your account, which can be accessed via your personal dashboard.

There is also a separate application process for PayPal Credit. This service allows you to borrow money for purchases at low interest rates and to pay in installments if the option exists.
