Just popped into my local Asda in Harlow and they have a large selection of DVD'S and PC games..

The DVD's start from £3.00 and the PC games start from £1.00 there is a large selection on offer from Brothers in Arms road to hill 30 to Splinter cell, and Prince of persia sands of time, Operation flashpoint and Heroes of might and magic all at £1.00 each

I picked brothers in arms up for a quid...As you can see from my Photo...

This maybe countrywide aswell as it was a big stand in the doorway as you walk into the store..

Pop along to your local asda and see what they got, you have nothing to lose..

It doesn't have online play enabled but is the full working single player game.

Be warned these games may not be compatible with XP (Rayman wasn't so check individual titles), don't want to waste your quid :giggle:

Thanks Russ....
#5
Since when was Brothers in arms not XP compatible, It only came out early 2006..
#6
Like I said worth checking cos Rayman wasn't and thought it should have been.
Maybe why they are only £1.
#7
What's the difference between the normal version of Brothers in Arms and the limited edition Asda/Daily Mirror version??
#8
Well all the titles I have listed in my post are XP compatible they are all to new not to be, Rayman is an older game I was playing that one years ago, so that may be why...Check instore people there maybe one or two that ain't but most are...

Thanks for that info Col...

To be honest don't understand why Rayman will only work on Windows 95, 98:?

I haven't had a proper look but seems there are some bargains to be found :)

Hopefully that's all it is! :p

Was just wondering as Asda/Daily Mirror were doing a giveaway of free demos/limited versions of PC games last week - and I saw a mention of Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Heroes of M&M and Brothers in Arms games in their list. I assume Asda aren't trying to sell demos of games for a £1 a go!!! :whistling:

But given that there are a few different releases in those ranges it's probably safe!

Nope I have just loaded the game up on my pc and it is a fully working pc cdrom...Not a demo version... Fantastic for a quid went into game and they want £15 for it...

Why are some people voting cold for this I don't understand, a quid for some relatively newish pc games, I mean what do people want.. Games for nothing..C'mon now..

Of course not!! :whistling:

im still not convinced that it is the FULL game for £1. if they deem to call it a "special edition courtesy of daily mirror/asda" then there must be something different about it.
#18
They are the FULL games, why would Asda want to sell demos?

Crazylegs even confirmed, so why are you still not convinced?

Just completed Brothers in Arms that I bought from Asda and it is the complete game as far as I can see. But as the packaging says no online gaming
#20
These are still available from store as just popped in again this morning and they are still there...

Have been playing brothers in arms now for a good few hours and I can categorically state that these are the full games....

Oh and just bought Heroes of might and magic for a quid this morning aswell, Again full game...:)

Heroes is incredible.. which one? 1/2/3/4/5? Brilliant game for network/online even if it is old hat now. Easy enough to make your own maps/expansions too.
#22
This offer still available to all...:w00t:
