10'' MSI Wind U135 Netbooks with 7 hour battery @ £149.99 - Very good buy, if it can be used as a hackintosh.
#6
the Dell (red one) was on the counter in fosse park and it was nice, had a brushed steel keyboard area, number pad, and a metallic paint finish, hdmi out as well

Dual boot and have both, or have Hackintosh, Linux and Windows 7 on it.

Dell looks good - how much worse is it than an i3 processor. I wont touch a Tosh with a bargestone after my last one kept having pieces fall off it and the power supply jack stopped working. Need a new one asap.
#21
Looking at the dell site - with current 10% quidco can get a better inspiron r with i3 processor for extra £40. Would that be better?

I've reserved one of the last two black MSI Wind, but it's at £179.99, does anyone know if Argos will honour the lower price if/when it comes down to £149.99 tomorrow?

The price paid is the price instore on the day. That's they're policy.
#28
I reserved the Wind too. 7 Hour Battery Life...Sounds like fantastic deal to me. Also the keyboards on these are lovely. A lovely design from a low end budget netbook.

I just reserved an MSI Wind U135 in black too. At the moment it's an impulse thing so in the morning it might be a case of not wanting one, I don't actually need one lol.

Me either, but if it's £150, for 7 hour battery...

Not worried about the OS, because Linux is going on it. Although I'd much rather XP than Vista.

Cannot fing MSI wind for 149. Bought it few days ago for 179. Btw it supports DDR3 1333 memory and has free available slot, but the problem is if the bottom lid to open - warranty is removed.
#32
how are u guys ordering already? the wind is showing up as 179 for moi..maybe im missing something?

We're reserving for instore collection at the higher price (£179.99) so that when they come down to the reduced price tomorrow we have one already put aside before they sell out.

Bought the u135 for 179 a few days ago, really really dissappointed in it, will be going back tomorrow morning i'm afraid, just can't handle anything tougher than facebook, my phone runs rings around it, with the anti virus they supply with it it becomes near-impossible to run, the entire experience is like rowing through waist high treacle with your c*** as an oar.

However as stated above the keyboard is excellent for a notebook, it also looks delightful and has a very good battery life, shame about the performance

Remove the av and any other bloatware, that should help. The main thing that would help would be to remove XP altogether.
#36
didnt think you could return notebooks/laptops etc. something about them being excluded from 30 day money back guarantee. Or is it sour grapes that the price has fallen
#37
If you don't know how to setup a laptop properly, like eca07mc, then it probably is a good idea to stay away. That's not meant to be insulting; it's just that if you can't remove bloatware from a netbook, then it's going to run like a dog in treacle.
#38
The MSI has come down to £149.99 now.
