It's a fantastic device. Yes, a bit expensive but it's worth it. Voting cold as it's over £2 cheaper on eBay.
awesome device... as an ex-IT guy.
double that, have used one for a few years now, tons of isos. Strangely the only modern PCs that have an issue booting from it are some dells.

Great device.
Yes, you could use USB sticks or USB HD's.... or you could put every OS you can imagine on 1 HD in ISO format (Linux, Windows server, window 7...etc), do no work what so ever (no need for tools "ISO to USB" tools or "multi-boot" tools that constantly have to be updated). I save myself time and have an archive of all my CD/DVD/Bluray at the same time. I just need to flick a switch on the side, I have any ISO selected (bootable) I want :-) You pay for convenience and the time saved mucking around preparing bootable USB sticks/HD's is worth £38 in my book.

Each to their own, as an IT guy, wouldn't be without one.

Its not just a case. It has a built in DVD drive emulator that allows any ISO files stored on the HD to be booted. For IT techs, these are seriously useful, cant praise this enough. We have a few here at work. May be a expensive for Joe Bloggs public though.

Good price if with hard drive. You'd be insane to pay this price just for the case

A case a few £ software to load ISO files free and 30 secs to install - if you are a tech you'd still stay away

I want to install Windows 8 from scratch using an ISO I have saved on a generic USB HDD.

Please explain how I set this up in 30 seconds using cheap software?
