Pearl Harbour: Rafe McCawley (Ben Affleck) and Danny Walker (Josh Hartnett) are childhood friends who both dream of flying. As the world becomes embroiled in World War II in the early 1940's, Rafe and Danny sign on with the United States armed forces, although America is still in an isolationist position. Eager to participate in combat, Rafe is compelled to join the British air fight against the Nazis, leaving his girlfriend, beautiful army nurse Evelyn Stewart (Kate Beckinsale) behind. When Evelyn and Danny are transferred to the military base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, they hear the news that Rafe has been shot down and killed. Hoping to move on after grieving, Danny and Evelyn find themselves in love. When Rafe returns alive, the three find themselves in an uncomfortable personal situation that is soon engulfed by the massive surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.

Putting aside their differences, Rafe and Danny join the desperate fight against the enemy invaders. The film's epic sweep intertwines Rafe and Danny's stories with the heroic efforts of such characters as "Dorrie" Miller (Cuba Gooding Jr.), a ship's cook turned fighter, Earl (Tom Sizemore), a courageous base mechanic, and Jimmy Doolittle (Alec Baldwin), the visionary pilot who would lead one of America's most famous counterattacks of the war. Dan Aykroyd also appears as the code breaking Captain Thurman and Jon Voight as President Franklin Roosevelt.

There’s a certain irony in watching Pearl Harbour on Blu-ray what with Sony trying to bombard the US market with Blu-ray devices. Yet another Japanese attack on American soil. :giggle:

Good price, crap movie!

Choice is yours!
#7
anyone know if this is a region B only , or an ABC?
#8
Great price for a blu ray disc. Shame the film is absolutely awful!
#9
not the best film, but for less than £5 its a good addition to the library. And lets face it, some of the action sequences were quite impressive, so being able to see that in HD is going to be good.

Voted hot.

Has anyone bought from them before, are their dvds the UK release, or are they foreign imports. I just wanted to see if it was the UK release, as if it is it would make a great present for my friend.

As in the FAQ with regards to CDs (as it doesn't say about dvds) it says:
"Are your CDs genuine?
Yes! All our CDs are 100% genuine retail products in full retail packaging. Because we source them from overseas occasionally there might be small differences in the track listing from the UK edition. If that's the case then we'll say so in the product's description. "

^^^

from what i gather, they're basically like cd-wow. Might be imports, but full english and genuine copys.

Voted hot, and ordered.

good price, but even 4.91 is too much to be bored rigid

*sings*

"Pearl harbor sucked and I erm don't have Blu-ray"

:)

I'm betting this is a misprice. All the other cheapest Blu-Rays are £14.09

Looks to me as someone priced it at £04.91 maybe? shows up at £4.91?

Either way just bought it. Never actually seen it but if all else fails i'm sure i'll make double my money back on ebay!
#16
nah i think its a promo cause all the other blu-rays u can add as many as u want but for this the max is 2. I was gonna get 3, one for me one for my bro and one for ebay but like i said the max is 2.
#17
I was thinking it's a great deal on a Blu-ray DVD but then the catch: It's Pearl Harbor.

Oh well, not like I have a Blu-ray player yet either.
#18
I have ordered, but it probably won't be honoured as I think its a misprice too.

And should be £14.09 (as the other blu ray dvds at the £14 mark are all priced at £14.09 and i am dyslexic & could see a person mixing up the one and zero. Making it £04.91 (like someone said earlier) instead of £14.09

If it is a misprice, I don't think they will honour i, as I don't think they could afford to, as they don't sound a massive company.

See their "About Us" section:

"The name says it all really - 4CheapCDs.com is the best place to come for a huge range of CDs at very low prices. We're committed to offering you the best value and the best service.

Having spent the last couple of years selling thousands of CDs through our Amazon Shop we've decided the time has come to set up a shop of our own. We have a lifetime satisfaction rating of 96% as a marketplace seller, based on over 19500 ratings, so you can shop with us in confidence."

Yeah, looks like a mis-price. And while they might want to honor a few orders, they probably won't honor the volume of requests they'll get now that it's listed.

Can't say I'd blame them - sell a thousand of those at a loss and where is your small business? Dead in the water.
#20
does anyone know if this is region abc or just region 2?
#21
You can't polish turd.

Rather give my money to charity.
#22
Someone over on AVforums has already taken delivery at this price, been at this for over a week I think. So doesn't look to be a misprice
#23
Great price. Worth it to watch the war scenes and miss the rest.
#24
can anyone confirm this will work on a hk ps3? i checked ebay and most of the pearl harbours are region free. dont know what to do should i buy one?
#25
Now you can watch a big steaming pile of horse manure in exquisite detail.

Games for the PS3 are region free. Blu Ray movies ARE NOT.

So i assume this is a UK Blu Ray disc. So no, it wont work on a Hong Kong console. However, US Blu Ray discs will work on the Hong Kong PS3

r u sure? because the ones on ebay are all region free. and also i dont think they have introduced region locking on blu ray disks yet.

Yes, but play.com is definitely the UK release, I'm not sure this is, as I know they import the cds, but I'm not sure about their dvds (the company sends their items from Singapore)

But as it says region 2, it must play on UK machines, otherwise there would have been a notice, if you look at all their blu ray dvds, some look like the dutch release.

Blu-ray is region locked, your getting it confused with HD-DVD which is region free.

Here is a list of which disc are region free
http://bluray.lindsite.dk/

and it states that both US and Euro releases of Pearl Harbour are region free.

Meaning it will work on all players and PS3s.
