The Natural wood Ride-on bike helps train the coordination and balance of children through play. Once they've mastered the ride-on-bike, children are ready to move on to their first bicycle. It gives them the first steps towards coordination and balance. The bike has been 85% preassembled and requires very little further assembly. The seat is in the lowest position for the beginner but the height of the seat can be raised for when the child grows. The bike is constructed for children aged 3-6 years and your child should have many hours of fun with the bike.

fab price-cheapest i've seen

Heat added - great price.

Bought one of these for our eldest as the first balance bike we received as a present was a little too big for her on the lowest seat setting.

This can be lowered quite a bit

great price, paid lot more for my little boys but was worth it! He has been riding his 2 wheeler since he was 2.5 thanks to the balance bike :)

Balance bikes are great and really work - well they did for my two, and this is a bargain.

Hate this site! costs me so much.

It does help to learn to balance with a bike that has a low saddle and no pedals. However, you don't need a special bike to do this. It doesn't matter if the chain has rusted solid or the pedals have broken as they can be removed.

my son is 5 and we purchased this when it was reduced before christmas its good quality but i think might be to small for some - if you want me to measure the hight from seat to floor let me know :)
the balace bike is meant for those who cant ride with out stabilisers to help them learn to balance like on a 'normal' bike

Yup! Register your Nectar card online (www.nectar.com) then 'go shopping' and follow the link for Amazon (as you would for Quidco. Loads of other online retailers there too.

Put aside a day and go over a nice flat grassy park and take off the stabilisers. You will be surprised how quickly they pick it up with you holding on at first and once they have a bit of balance they will be off! We did it with our 5 years old a few months ago. All done within about 30 minutes and no looking back after that!

None available! :(

You can also do this cheaply by unscrewing and taking the gears, chain and pedals off a normal bike, let them learn how to ride it "balance bike style", and then put them back on when they have mastered it. They will probably never need stabilisers then.

Strangely not many people work out this is cheaper (buying the one bike) than buying a balance bike and then a "proper" bike.
