Voted hot, that kid of mine never shuts up about SRV.

Bought this the other day. Came to just under £90 with bag, strap, extended warranty and a bag of plectrums including delivery, so good price for all that too!

Are these any good? Just about to start learning guitar and is this worth a punt or would I be wasting money?

Great to hear. Perhaps he should check out Joe Bonamassa as well!

Not the worst guitar! Would be good for a beginner and at this price you'll be hard pushed to find a better even 2nd hand.

Bought one for my daughter several years ago. I couldn't believe how good they are. Excellent range of tones and very very playable.

Joe Banamassa is a hell of a good guitarist, saw a couple of concert on TV and the guitar is just an extension to his hand. Would love to see him live next he comes over to the UK

Yes he is but all next year gigs are in London and pretty much sold-out. I am a bit of a Bonaholic and have seen him Live and would highly recommend watching his Tour de Force dvd's (google it). Anyone contemplating playing the guitar should see how it's really done! ;)

Good enough, for £150 no, but for this price, yes.

He's great, however I could make an absolutely massive list of awesome guitarists. Citing one guitarist as showing you how it's done is actually moot, he's a great guitarist in that style, then you could debate whose better whose best, then you could debate the various other styles. There is no best guitarist those lists are for idiots, I know you weren't saying that. What I'd say is listen to as many guitarists as you can in as many different styles as you can stand, most of the great ones such as Tommy Emmanuel (don't watch him or you won't want to start playing hehe) most people haven't even heard of.

You can go from Drivin' South (Radio 1 Session) by Hendrix to Tender Surrender by Steve Vai to Entre dos aguas by Paco De Lucia to Highway 49 Blues by Bob Brozman to 1000s of other brilliant guitarist performances. Youtube is your friend.

Remember playing the guitar is not a competition, if you make it so, you've already lost before you started :)

Anyway I'll leave you with Sister Rosetta Tharpe which will leave you spellbound lol (50 seconds in or you'll think I've gone mad hehe) >

I pretty much agree with most of what fishmaster says but I was just replying to what jeannot18 was saying about Joe Bonamassa. Personally I hate those stupid 'top 100 guitarist' poles and yer dead right there is no greatest guitarist just a fair few of really great performers with JB amongst them...;)
