It's a great watch and a good price. Just be mindful that Pebble itself is no longer trading and therefore there's no ongoing backup for the watches should they develop a fault (previously Pebble would replace defective devices etc).

Haven't they been bought out and no further support offered?

They have only promised to keep the pebble servers that support the watches going until the end of 2017

Given how they are dropping future support for pebble users just like that, I won't buy any pebble or fitbit products any more.

I have one of these and I absolutely adore it. I have faith that there may be some workaround to keep it going pas the end of the year, but anyone looking to buy one now, unless they're the sort of person who loves tinkering with stuff like this, should probably think long and hard.

Having said that, I've voted hot, for this watch, it's a great price.

I have a Pebble Steel and it's a great bit of kit. Mine has stayed with me while other smart watches have been bought and moved on. The whole Pebble concept was opened up for developers and I've every confidence developers will keep these going, at least on the Android compatibility route. Think I'll jump in at this price too ... hot.

ugly but not as ugly as a normal pebble steel and now gonna be as supported as HDVD avoid this white elephant

so that's for the next 11 month's, then they pull the plug ! I have a Pebble steel only complaint is that the screen goes crazy most of the time and I can't see the time.

"Fitbit will maintain services so that Pebble devices continue to work as normal. Pebble functionality and service may be reduced in the future. We applaud their efforts as we collectively work to streamline this transition for Pebblers everywhere."
