Ahh, but that doesn't have a box. It's well worth paying the extra 14.98 - it's such a lovely cardboard box :)
NO
thankfully it's not compatible

No it isn't. You've linked to the 18-55mm DAL lens not the 18-55mm DA lens. The DAL version is always cheaper because it comes with a plastic rather than metal mount, no lens hood and no quick-shift AF.

DA has the metal mount. DAL has the plastic mount. There is no dam version. There have been two versions of the DA, this Jacobs deal is for the first version.
But still waiting for wr link for eBay.
Ahh! I see.
I'm not holding my breath:-) Nor do I see much point paying the premium for the water resistant lens, unless you own one of the water resistant bodies of course - K10D, K20D, K-7, K-5 and, perhaps surprisingly, the more entry level K200D.
got k-r and wr lenses 50-200 and 18-55 and it's worth it, little rain wont be a problem

Pentax lenses are compatible with Pentax cameras
Nikon lenses are compatible with Nikon cameras
Canon lenses are compatible with Canon cameras
Sony lenses are compatible with Sony cameras
Four Thirds lenses (of any brand) are (should?) compatible with Four Thirds cameras (of any brand)...
Simples!
And the third party manufacturers (Sigma, Tamron, Vivitar, Tokina) usually make most of their lenses in most mounts.
Okay okay, so you can, in many cases, get adapters that let you fit one brand of lens to another brand of camera but usually this involves losing autofocus and/or autoexposure and/or infinity focus. Great if you can put up with that sort of thing.
SRS were selling new (but unboxed) 18-55mm DA WR's for £49.99 a few months ago on their eBay outlet.
Canon EOS adapter 40D 50D 5D 5D II 550D 500D 7D 5D
Nikon 1 (you should of just bought a pentax in the first place)
Sony Nex
Sony Alpha
Nikon
Panasonic/Olympus M4/3
Leica....... (i'mm not even going to go there, if you can afford a Leica why the hell are you here?)
