NO YOU ARE WRONG... YOU COULD BUY MORE THAN 12 "GOOD" COMPACTS FROM ALDI(LESS THAN 50 EACH).

POINT IS HOW YOU DEFINE "GOOD". CAN ALL THOSE CAMERAS YOU BOUGHT PRODUCE ONE PICTURE THAT IS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE ON MAGAZINE?

I CAN TELL YOU A LOT OF PICTURES TAKEN BY THIS LENS HAVE BEEN AND WILL BE ON MAGAZINES.

Someone doesn't understand sarcasm  I have a DSLR mate, I fully understand the point of this lens, I was just (jokingly) getting it in before someone else posted, as they just about ALWAYS do!! (I thought that the razz would have given that away ).

It's an odd size lens. I don't know what I would use it for. Too expensive as a portrait lens (doesn't need to be that fast), too short as a sport lens (would want at least 200mm), too big as a standard lens. I'd go for a fast standard first (f:1.8/35mm perhaps), but if you got that already, I'd try for a longer lens. But that's just my opinion/needs.
