If your local go in and get them to scan one.The system might show the original price but the barcode would show the adjusted price.

Excellent find, excellent camera !!!!

This was only released last autumn as an upgrade to theK100D, i got it for £229.99 at the time when it should have been £359.99 as the girl in Asda gave me the wrong box

The whole Pentax range has been upgraded and the K100D Super has now been superceded by the 10mp K200D.

Grab it whilst you can as they'll be in short supply

Christ. Megapixels aren't everything. This is a quality camera.

Your 8mp camera is a piece of plastic tat.

Digital SLRs have much bigger sensors than compact digital cameras as well as better lenses. Hence they take usefully better pictures. Essentially the compact camera market has entered a MegaPixel arms race which isn't a good reflection of image quality.

OMG that made me laugh!!!:-D.. But I know what you mean eh..people reckon the bigger the mp the better the camera!!:whistling:

Wish we had an Asda here! Voted hot!

Do not fall for the mega pixel game. Its about the CCD, lens etc. On a small compact the CCD is tiny on a DSLR it is bigger and better.
I had a 10 megapixel compact. My Nikon D40 is massively better with 6 MP. I looked at this Pentax before getting the D40. At this price the Pentax is a bargain

Perhaps you would like the book to go with it ....

This one is a DSLR, with APS-C size sensor.

The 8mp's is a DC, the sensor is possibly 1/2.5", much smaller. The picture quality is not able to compare with this Pentax

by the way, anyone knows any london asda got it in stock?

You have a DSLR for £80? I dont think so

You dont need any higher than 6 megapixals unless you are printing your pictures out in A2

just rang lower earley and they said it was £349

so umm :(
#26
Was this marked at £159 or did it only come up as that when it went through the till?

Has anyone tried taking one of the £349 ones to the till and seeing if they scan through as less?
#27
The Mrs said that it scanned for £349 but the girl had to ' price override ' to half price.

Yup

just been to asda, rather excited that they had one.

Assistant took it to the till when I asked him to price check it and it came up full price. £349

any info on till price file update times for asda would be great.

i'd like to buy one

eh?

If it's not advertised as being on promotion, ie: there are no sale signs up, and its got a full price shelf edge label, why would a sales assistant price override something that doesnt appear to be on promotion? unless they have a sale sheet with it listed on and the new lower price isnt coming up on the till

How do i convince them that its reduced?
#30
Because it ses so on the internet! lol see how far that gets you
#31
Not very probably, if you have some proof then print it out and take it in... by proof i dont mean this forum.

the only thing I have as evidence that it's on special is the receipt posted. I could take that into my local store but i wouldnt want to as it identifies the store in question and as the purchase was a staff purchase, might cause problems for the Mr Fussy's wife if it ends up not being a legitimate offer. I hope it is though, because it's an awesome deal if you can get it.

it would be fantabulous to actually buy one at this price, since I made a special journey to grab one

I sent my friend to check this out. There were few for 349 and one for 245 (ex-display) and one for 280 (just opened box, returned purchase, or something like this. they had a special list for those, which, i guess, was working as mr. Fussy's list at the till.

Shame, we didn't do any deal, good to know that there is such a list, though.

(edit:)
was in ASDA in aberdeen.

I went to my asda today. It's 229.
