Beware - lots of negative posts re BestBuy performance and you probably won't get your kickback either. Second hand information but there's so much of it it's hard to ignore.

BestBuy are a very large and respected US retailer but they don't seem to have got their act together in the UK yet. Joint venture with Carphone Warehouse I think? Based on TalkTalk's reputation I think they may have chosen the wrong partner!

I paid £350 for a Pentax Optio (5mp) camera a few years back and it stopped working just after 12 month's, I expected for £350 I would have got a few more years out of it, for me I would never ever buy a Pentax again no matter how cheap.

Live and learn!

never heard of best buy before thanks , free delivery to if in no hurry for it

ended up buying the pentax optio e90 , slightly lower spec and wee bit cheaper £40 but gets good reviews and more importantly for me when travelling of the beaten track it runs on AA batteries which can be bought anywhere in the world

with quidco if tracks will only cost £32

4 months old and half way around one of the Disney Parks!:(
Sent back and Royal Mail managed to lose it (along with Pentax repair service).
It finally arrived unannounced 5 weeks later and I have not trusted it ever since.
My old Canon is far superior.
It may be a hot deal though if the cameras have improved.

I dont know reliability I had a pentax before and worked fine but I got 3 year warranty as it covers accidental damage as well.

Best buy - worst customer service ever. Bought £600 fridge freezer from them. Said it had ice/water dispenser- it didn't. Asked for a refund day after delivery. HDN finally picked it up a month later. Still no refund 1 month after pick up. Customer service are a bad joke.Endless emails and costly calls (mostly on hold). Failed pick up dates. Numerous promises to ring me back (they never do). Visa investigating. Worst buying experience i have ever had. Do not use these cowboys !

Maybe you should have checked the pictures more carefuly :)

Got a LED screen from BB recently, £100 cheaper than anywhere else, quick delivery and £70 tcb, too. Can't complain. Only bad point that idiots from HSBC blocked my card afterwards as they probably haven't yet add BB to their list of known retailers.

Research yourself before buying. Best Buy are fine.

If I knew I would have this trouble getting a refund - I would have kept it . If you buy from them , just prey you don't have any problems.

My pentax camera broke after 13 months, whilst on holiday. Fortunately we had a second fuji camera.
Best buy have a dreadful reputation since they stated trading here. And by all accounts you are more likely to win the lottery than get your quidco.
Again, all secondhand information about best buy, but there is so much of it about I wouldn't take the risk

Not heard any bad news about quidco on here with Best Buy.

I actually suspect a smear campaign by rivals Currys/PC World.

Reviews of this camera are not very good, pay £9 more and get a Kodak from BestBuy

- I didn't criticise the camera as I don't know what it's like.
- I did pass on multiple HUKD posters' warnings about BestBuy as some people may not have seen them. Once they know then buyer beware applies. BestBuy is a well respected company in the US so this is perhaps a surprise but who wants to get mixed up in their teething troubles?
-There's no need to swear!

I don't think even DSG would stoop that low - in fact I doubt they're capable of orchestrating such a campaign. Time will tell but at the moment while there's smoke there's probably fire. The stores are good but I for one wouldn't risk online ordering at the moment, especially if the Quidco was important.

If they get things fixed then no one will be happier than me - about time DSG had a competent competitor!

Ordered one today, £10 Quidco tracked within a couple of hours.

what kinda memory card do i need the ones on this deal seem to be a bit pricey
#26
SD or SDHC. You might want to look here for a 8GB SDHC at £7.75

£39 with Quidco for what maybe an admittedly average camera doesn't seem pricey to me especially as it's Li-ion.

Edited By: johnj60 on Jan 16, 2011 22:02: added SDHC card link
