Don't forget the £5 off voucher if you spend over £50 and you also get the opportunity to enter a PES online comp and win £50,000 if you buy it off Play!

All new lag, lack of licensing, removal of training, shop, etc! Fantastic price though, and the actual football is far far better than pes 6.
#4

#5

Training is in this one. Don't know if it's any different to the training you may refer to. Other stuff you say is right though. Still, even with the omissions you mention, the gameplay is still there and makes it better than FIFA and consequently the best footie game out. Oh, and the lag should be sorted with some sort of patch soon enough. Great price.

Players appear out of nowhere, the ball has a mind of its own, your keeper cathes it and the next thing it's a corner.... i could go on

Hello, in my opinion FIFA is better than PES this year (I never thought I'd say that!!!), the gameplay in FIFA actually feels more realistic and recreates the 'match day' feel than PES has ever done. Konami really need to give their series a kick up the ar*e and give the punters a bigger reason to buy the yearly update. I believe the £25 price tag already proves the above.

Excellent price, Gamestation are doing it £5 cheaper but only when you buy it with another game, which in most cases are overpriced, so this is the best price for the standalone game at the moment and you'll most likely receive it faster than Gamestation as well.
#13
Cheers for that mate. Just ordered myself one :)
#14
Me and my mates are playing a tournament on this next weekend. So have just ordered this to replace PES6 and get some practice in. Cheers for the heads up!
#15

Back in PES6, there was loads of challenge training and set training situations that actually helped you to improve, rather than just the free play and position ball stuff they have in this. Real step back...

what if you bought two copies of pes 2008 from gamestation?

that would work out cheaper right?

In my opinion PES is miles too fast and arcadey yet Fifa is too slow. There is no middle ground game this year. Konami have really slacked in this version of Pro Evo taking out little things that mean alot to die-hard fans. However, if you liked PES6 on the 360 you really cant go wrong with this.

I can see what fifa has tried to do this year by slowing the game down however, the game is less responsive with passing and the player models are really bad! In saying that, its a close battle between Pro Evo and Fifa this year which is a good thing for the consumers.

Back on topic, great post OP, well worth the money. Those worrying about online play..the same thing happened with PES6 on the 360 and it took a month for Konami to release a patch to correct their game coding. You can also use face mapping (if you have a live-vision cam) and create yourself in game! (I put myself with all 99's!) :giggle:

FIFA is better in single player but Pro Evo wees all over it for multi-player offline, no doubt at all.
#22
game is awful, getting worse every yr, fifa overtaken for the crown by a mile, next gen console still with Ps1 graphics and gameplay still fast and non realistic, its time konami stopped living in the past and turn pes into a next gen game
#23
Bargain
#24
good price wish i paid 25 instead of 39 as the game is a backword step from pro evo 4,5 and 6
#25
Bargain, Fifa 08 was £24.99 and I am still waiting for it to be in stock since it sold out at £24.99 so get it for this price while you can.
#26
I am a huge pes fan but this one let me down, i've gotta say this year fifa have it, it might not have the fluidity of pes but it has everythin pes doesn't - kits, players who look real, good goals, manager mode and pes is ridiculously fast
#27
nice one
ordered mine :)
#28
nice.
#29
Doesnt seem to work for me! £37.99 has this expired???
#30
Ah ****. Looks like it has expired.

Can't believe I missed this!
#31
Its rubbish anyway, PES 5 on the PS2 was the best.
#32
I agree with you there but i still wanted to buy it at this price!!! :x
#33
You snooze you lose :p

Well I paid full price anyway.

Anyone heard anything about an update to sort the online out yet?
#34
Yeah i bought this already for £35 but wanted to get it at this price for my brother so we could play online.

And i hope they sort out online play soon its doing my head in :x
