providing they get the online lag issue sorted, this is without the best footie game available

wake up fifa fan boys and move away from the dark side
#4
been poo last few outings but still better than FIFA which was last good in FIFA 95..

Good deal, finally PES for under 30 squid :d

Having played PES since ISS PRO on the PSOne, I finally had enough of the online problems after PES2009 and went to the dark side i.e. FIFA10.

I haven't looked back. Online is immense, never any lag or slowdown. PES is fine if you only want to play the CPU or "same room" opponents, but I prefer to be able to play against people around the world with no frustrating frame skips.

I really can't see me coming back to PES unless Konami does something radical now.

I've downloaded both demos. Last year I got PES and was disappointed, and my bro-in-laws told me FIFA was worth a punt.

After playing both demos PES is much better - FIFA is very "arcade-like" and PES's manual passing makes a world of difference.

I'm hoping that Asda give a trade-in of £15 for PES10, like they did with FIFA :)
#8
Fifa 99 was good - poor from then on.

PES 09 was really really awful, fifa 09 was better. PES 10 and Fifa 10 nothing really in it but online is better in fifa. Fifa 11 is a good game but far far too easy imo. Been playing ISS since ISS Deluxe! old school.
Cant wait for PES11 - heat added
#9
Eww PES, just kidding.
Seems a decent price but I prefer the Fifa games
#10
I'm not a fan boy of either but having tried both PES and Fifa this year I like the way Fifa plays a lot more. I find PES too arcadey in a bad way. Good price for a game that's only just come out though!

I wish I wish I wish Konami would sort out the lag on online play with PES. FIFA is miles ahead in this area, with better graphics, licenses and commentary. But PES, it takes time to get to know it and understand it... once you do... it's AWESOME.

I've just bought this, I hope i'm gonna be impressed as I was with the demo.

Never had any online lag in 2010 and 2008 edition. Get a better interweb connection and quit whining. Will wait for the magic 17,99 mark this time.

"Keeper fumbles!" Carboni was a goal machine for Italy and Allejo is the best striker Brazil has ever seen.

This years PES is a massive improvement. They've really put in a shift, think of the difference between PES2 and PES3 and you are getting close to whats happened this year. Its just a shame that reviewers are that programmed to the Fifa way of playing that it means when they try PES they hate it as the "players don't overlap or move forward". They do, either L1 one-twos or simply change your tactics to all-out attack if you really want centre backs to leg it up the option is there. I'd rather have the choice of going gung ho or not but the reviewers seem to think that it should be standard tactics.

Fingers crossed Lawro is still on audio duty to keep up the laughs

It's not a question of getting a better Internet connection

Other games, eg FIFA and Modern Warfare 2, are played without a moment's trouble

PES is notorious for being laggy online, you only have to browse Internet forums to see how many people have turned against it, in favour of FIFA, for this reason
#16
ISS is not "old school". I've been playing since Konami Hyper Soccer!

I think I've bought every Konami football from then on. FIFA 09 was my first ever FIFA game and I would not go back. Judging by the PES demo it's 2nd best again this year.

Still, a good price if PES is what you want!

Oh Pes how I Loved, Loved, Loved you on Ps2.

You Were The Only Reason I got An Xbox 360 (for the first Next Gen Pes)...you broke my heart.

You Were The Only Reason I got a Ps3 (for Next Gen Playstation Pes)... you took my shattered heart and hurled it over a cliff...

I still have my Ps3, have enjoyed a few games (Uncharteds, Modern Warfares) but my shattered, broken heart is still there at the bottom of the cliff.....

Having played the demo, my shattered broken heart has pulled itself together over the rocks.... its starting....its starting to beat again.....

Will this be a true resurrection,....oh please, please so....

so in summary I really liked the demo, bought Fifa 11 and its sooooo boring to me, all the players seem to play like each other, so bland, no exciting goals etc. Ready to trade in Fifa 11 already and this is a rather good deal, but I reckon supermarkets may get it cheaper.

i gave pes one last chance last season and it was utterly awful, tried the pes 2011 demo and it seemed dull but better, im sticking with fifa. fifa hasnt let me down in 2 years and this year is no exception.
but my opinions not relevant to this deal as this is still a hot deal.

Don't get me started on the whole FIFA 11 debate and that its the best thing since slice bread. Played the demo of both games and I still nudged towards PES on the demo aspects. I purchased FIFA before PES this year (preorder) and received it a day earlier so I've had it for several days, and although it does things brilliantly (jostling and shielding}, it lacks that thrill and excitement you get when you score a goal. Maybe its the shooting aspect of it, but when I shoot at goal it feels too controlled and simplified, I sit there emotionless. I'll be keeping both like I have in the last several years but I can't help but be critical of it when its been so praised as being perfect in every way,

Back to PES, I have never been able to find the answer to this but will the master league be predominantly online only or is Master league online an additional game mode? Really enjoyed the master league's current format already and wouldn't really be overjoyed if it was online only.

Dude, I have the Virgin 50Mb service, and it still lags! I love PES, but it one of the only things that lets it down. Playing offline is fast and brilliant, but you want that online thrill. PES 6 was brilliant on the PS2, I wish they'd go back-2-basics.

These PES fanboys really are annoying, saying how Fifa is arcadey and just about licences, an argument made redundant since the 'next gen' where if anything PES is the arcade game. How you can be so blinkered I don't know.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the old games but since this gen PES has been the equivalent of a pinball game. If its improved as much as it allegedly has then I may invest next year.

Good deal, will probably order this now.

Edit: 10% code requires walkers rainy days codes from their crisps. Dammit, nevermind. Argos it is.

Edit2: Scratch that. Found two empty multipacks in my recycle bin. Woot.

Good deal, cancelled my amazon pre order.

And the rainy day code does not require a packet of their crisps. Just register and fill out the online survey for 2point and redeem your code.

Sign up to the website then enter some codes from Walkers pack to get points. Use these at checkout but ugh, I had to use up 4 points as the system glitched and I wasted one try and couldn't get "perks5" to work. Happy with ~£30 though...

Funny guy.

And to those claiming this game is bad without having played the full game (based solely on a demo?), learn to use your brains.

I have always been a PES man BUT the last 2 years I've played Fifa because it was alot better. This year however it is different, for multiple reasons.

1. Fifa 11 does not feel like a 'new game', it feels like a new menu skin and a bit more polish, nothing more. PES this year has come on leaps and bounds and has that 'feel' that PES has always had.
2. EA online pass, flawed explanation for the reasoning behind it. I buy the game, I have 1 licence, I sell that game the licence goes to the new buyer - It's not like there's more than 1 person it at any one time and the RRP should include EA's costs for online hosting, as opposed to a model based on greed.
3. Editing. PES has always been streets ahead in this aspect.
4. The feel of football, passing feels more fluid, open and varied.

I will be getting my PES tomorrow from Shopto, it was posted today, happy days!

I do hope online has been fiixed for this PES but if not who cares, football games will always be best with a group of friends, beer and pizza, as opposed to playing some random person hundreds of miles away.

Of the 2 demos the PES 11 was was superior for the first time in 3 years and im going back to PES this year . After all Fifa 09 , 10 and 11 are so similar (not a bad thing) . I own 09 and it still plays a great game i dont need latest kits and transfers its just the Games Gameplay i enjoy which hasnt changed enough to have warranted me buying the last 2 Fifas.
Fifa and CoD seem to have a lot of casual gamers who just wont try anything else , just the fact that the shot and tackle button is the different way around is enough to put them off trying something else . The same can be said for CoD , Battlefield series is far far superior multiplayer game and always has been . Cod used to have amazing single player campaigns on PC but now they are pathetic .

So true. There was outrage when Killzone 3 came out as the controls were different to COD! There's an ever increasing bunch of gamers where if they can't pick a game up in 5 minutes and start beating the game then the controls must be 'broken'. Back in my day, the SNES and Mega Drive era (lol) there were no saves and no custom controls and nobody whined anywhere near as much as gamers of today.
