Pro Evolution Soccer stands for unique realism and unparalleled control, but with PES 2011, Konami presents the reatest extent of innovation within the series to date. An essential aspect of the new freedom of play in PES 2011 is the new power gauge used for every single kicker. It allows the player to precisely control power and accuracy of very pass and shot, which results in better control over plays and match tempo.

Additionally, this new freedom is complemented with new AI routines that give the players responsibility for every play and decision. Situations where the AI disruptively interferes with the gameplay are a thing of the past. The specially developed control system is another crucial part of PES 2011. Passes spanning several kickers and gaining space now decide between success and failure more than ever. At the same time, dribblings and close control require a higher degree of precision.

As a result, this PES is closer to real football than ever before. PES 2011 is based on the familiar principles of realism and control, at the same time presenting an evolution and reorientation of virtual football.

Features:

* Complete and precise kicker control
* New shot and stamina gauge
* Play the popular Master League online
* Team management utilizes a comfortable drag-and-drop system
* New and refi ned tricks and skills system
* New player animations, improved tackling behavior

From what i've read it's much improved, but still not as good as fifa. I'm tempted to give it a go at this price though :)

Shouldn't be too long at this rate.

I picked up a copy last weekend but am already looking to sell on. Really does not come anywhere close to Fifa imo.

Still, very good price for a recently released game.

Though it genuinely pains me to say it, PES is most certainly second best this year, as it was last year.

All I can say is Hot, Hot Hot, and Hot, Hot, Hot, and Hot, Hot, Hot.

And I direct this to both the original poster and to Zavvi too; Zavvi are superb for incredible deals shortly after a game is released.

PES is a superb game, just a superb game of Marmite as some love it some hate it.

damn, prices shoot down so quickly

Fifa 11 is tough this year; fewer goals than in World Cup or 10 - at least on world class and legendary, and online. Still enjoyable though, if not slightly frustrating at times - especially when you are playing against an opponent who you know you should easily be beating. This year's PES is a refreshing change - only played once online (and it was lag-free) but against the CPU it's easier to score, with a much faster pace. IMO FIFA 11 is the better game - much more depth to it. But at this price I can't see the harm in having PES as well. FIFA 11 = hard slog, cerebral, demanding but ultimately fulfilling. PES = good fun but may prove shallow in the long term.

I have both fifa and this and have to say fifa is the better game overall. This however is bags of fun.... definitely worth a punt at this price.
#21
I would strongly recommend trying the demo first, player movement is sooo sluggish that you might not take to it at all
#22
Master League Online is rather good its like Ultimate Team yet free no DLC required and quite addicting, tbh wont drop much more i wouldnt think so good price.
#23
Thanks OP. Rude not to at this price :p
#24
Good price @ the mo and heat from me, But youv'e all got to ask the question "why is this game so cheap when it's only been out 3 weeks" Hmmmm let me think......... oohhh thats why because it's Sh##e............... as the meerkat says simples!
#25
Ordered mine cheers only played the demo of fifa 11 but to me I couldn't see much difference between that 10 or 09 imo

me too, bought this just over a week ago for £32.97 from asda, oh well

This is a super deal. I cant believe its so cheap already, to anyone unsure, its the first really good Next Gen Pes, have been playing it for ages since I got it, the online seems lag free (to me, but I am on Virgin BB). Great goals, Messi and Ronaldo are just like their real life counterparts, Soooo much better than Fifa, online Masterleague games...

Seriously the best football game I have played.

Looks like the rubbish next gen games of 2008-2010, which were REALLY dissapointing, have meant Konami have lost much of the market, hence the incredible sheap price for what is a brand new and rather great game.

btw dont forget walkers codes and quidco bringing this down to just over £15

A good price for PES fans... but not for me, I will stick with FIFA 10.

I have enjoyed FIFA & PES (and its earlier versions) over the years, but having played demos of both of the 2011 offerings, I would say FIFA 10 is still my favourite football game and I have no desire to part with it.

If you only played once online dont score PES, because you have to play 10 times to say something. It's to hard from the beginning, that's way people think like you, but after 10 games, when you can pass a ball correctly, learn some tricks and strike Goals you might think that it's best footy game ever

i like both games but pes 2011 with the dragonskin option file works best for me. Cant get enough of master league! its a bargain at this price. dont be put off coming from fifa, sure its different and slightly annoying at times but it worthwhile when you master it.

This happens every year (last couple of years at least), it's usually play, probably a pre strike from zavvi
