Went to a Currys in Titchfield Retail Park today, which they only had 1 copy, but couldn't find the disc to put in it!
Though as they got the boxes out to search i noticed they pulled out an xbox live starter kit with includes 12months live subscription - so bagged that for £9.97 - which to me is a better deal than the King Kong.
That's the 2nd starter kit i've found in as many months, thus 2 years of gold membership for less than £20 :)

Out of stock online and unable to reserve :(

god not again. ITS OUT OF STOCK EVERYWERE!!!!!

Everywhere?? Have you been EVERYWHERE?? :whistling:

The fact the OP found it today suggests otherwise

But agreed, would be handy if people found it in other threads rather than starting a new 1:roll:

can you use the old xbox live codes on the 360 without having to start a fresh account ? Ive got 2 2 month ones but both of them dont work....only with new accounts created on xbox that could then be transfered to 360. can you let me know if the year ones are the same or if they are redeemed the same way as a 12 month gold voucher you buy for 360.

I honestly believe that this is never in stock; It's a marketing ploy to encourage footfall on thier website, just so we buy something else shiny and expensive.

Voted cold because of the reason above.

These ones i got have a card with a scratch panel with reveals the code - i go into live and redeem the code there. I've never had a previous xbox live account - just the one i created when i got my 360 - both of these redemmed fine against the one account for gold membership.

Sorry sicknote, but you are quite incorrect. This game is available instore - its just the chance of going to a store where the staff haven't grabbed them 1st. Currys reduced the price on Sunday, a couple of days after pcworld had reduced them.
#13
Hey sicknote,
They do actually have them in stock! its just as soon as they realise that they are only 97p the staff suddenly realise that every one of them has actually put them away for themselves. Special thanks to Currys Birkenhead, Currys Bromborough and Currys Cheshire Oaks for all doing that!!!

Currys Ormskirk however were great and very helpful!!! Thanks!!

The only way you will get to buy them is to get them in the member of staffs hand and to the till without them checking on the system. That way its impossible for them to try to claim that they are reserved. And as an Ex-DSG employee I know there are no rules saying

1) The clearance items are just for staff
2) The clearance items are one per person
3) The clearance items must be sold @ the price on the sticker ie £29.99

Happy Hunting and Good Luck

I made no statement of fact; my comments are purley speculative - as in "I honestly believe" and not "I know for sure".

Read the post again.

Yet more evidence to support my speculative comments on how DSG drive web footfall with low priced, no stock offers.

Despite Sicknote's pessimism I went to my local Curry's after this deal had been marked expired and found they had 4 left in stock.

Stores in the bigger cities have perhaps ran out of stock but it still might be worthwhile checking your local today.

Good luck.
#20
picked up one today they where still marked up a £19.99 3 left in stock when it showed up on the till at 97p the manager promply bought the remaining stock himself! before i had a chance to buy another one.
#21
Sell for £8 to £10 on Fleabay

Actually, there's LOADS left kicking around Glasgow. On my travels today, at least three different stores had four or more in stock each. I've bought three to subsidise the purchase of a second controller but left most of what I saw. So keep an eye open in Anniesland, Jamaica Street and Argyle Street stores, folks.

Tryed today, couldn't get one, i would be very grateful is some one got me one and I pay for postage or whatever.
cheers please help, i'm not a dealer, I want this to play and my younger brother likes the film and wants the game.

You might of well picked the lot up, I bet they where marked up at £19.99
Once Currys staff find out the reduction they will snap up the rest of the stock.
#28
indeed they are still out there, just picked up 3 yesterday whilst on a visit to York. Bought one for myself, went back later to see if they had any others, by which time the staff had found out but 'couldnt be bothered' to buy them themselves! So i snapped up the other 2.

More fool them i say. Bargain!
#29
they're still around - currys in trowbridge has them (well at least 1) but price marked at £19.99, but when they go through the till come up as 97p
#30
Just picked up one from the Livingston branch (whilst the guy at the till picked up his jaw from the floor  ), thank you very much.
