is this for young kids? would it be suitable for an 8 year old to learn on?

It seems to be a half-size guitar, as far as I can tell. It's 29inches and Argos' 3/4 size guitar is 36inches. So, it seems like it's ideal for children under 7 (or so) ?

Buy cheap buy twice i say.

I bought one online for my daughter a couple of years ago and the quality was very bad, I had to send it back and incur the carriage costs.

Your better going to your local music shop where you can get some expert advice on a beginners guitar. Also they can set it up for you. If its not keeping its tune very well you can take it back.

My 8 year old daughter can play my full sized semi acoustic guitar!

Put ELECTRIC guitar strings on the acoustic so it won't hurt their fingers so much

Good luck!
