A rip off posted as a "hot deal"! ExxonMobil make about £16bn a year profit and invest some of their money in denying climate change (www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2006/sep/20/oilandpetrol.business). No thanks.
#10
Werent we told last year to stop posting fuel deals?

My local Asda in Blantyre has Petrol down at 112.9 as well.
#11
Actually, Sainburys, Morrisons in Hamilton have 112.9 for Petrol, and 114.9 for Diesel as well.

I would of liked to edit my above comment to include this, but since Chrome has a problem with the new coding on the site, its not possible.

I love it when our American friends chirp in whinning about their 69cent per ltr! and how they feel totally robbed! ;-)

God forbid that a company should make a profit. What is the world coming to.

You are dead right of course. I'm off to convert my car to run on good intentions and fairy dust. See ya!

Yes but our American chums shout about the prices and riot and not just sit back and take it like us!
#16
Thank you! There's a Esso just next doors. No point going to Tesco now.
#17
Sainsburys Beckton also have petrol down to 112.9 - useless post when fuel prices vary between pumps/areas. Just use the http://www.petrolprices.com.

Funny how us Brits are kept happy when 1p comes off our petrol. Just wait till winter when the vat hike takes effect,that will be at least another 3p added over night. No wonder The New World Order call us cattle,moooooooooooo! :{

Fantastic i will now go out of my way to buy Exxon/ Esso products.

Global warming/ climate change is a trojan horse by which a lot of people make a lot of money from flawed "science" It is an excuse to tax the things that surprisingly will make our society better.
Most people do not have a clue as to why CO2 has the label "greenhouse gas"

This shows what happens when people believe spin and nonsense rather than listen to science. Seems like Esso's money is well spent then.

Stupid statement the government are the ones ripping us off not the oil companys.

BORIN BORING BORING.

WHY DO WE GET ALL EXCITIED BY 1p OFF A LITRE OF RIP OFF, TAXED TO DEATH, UNENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PETROL / DIESEL

WHEN I SEE IT AT 89.9 EVERYWHERE AGAIN I WILL GIVE HEAT THE THE PERSON WHO FINDS IT.

OTHER WISE IT IS LIKE THE NHS. A POSTCODE LOTTERY. IF YOU LIVE NEAR A CHEAP PETROL STATION WELL BULLY FOR YOU BUT DO NOT SUBJECT THE REST OF THE PEOPLE THAT ARE RIPPED OFF WITH YOUR GLOAT!

What a muppet.

Do you know why the earth is heating up?
Because we are still at the tail end of an iceage..............

Man made climate change is a myth, made up by governments and big business to extract green taxes from us.
when the climate change bandwagon was at its fastest we had the coldest 3 years on record

It is you who are listening to spin and nonsense e.g. Commecial from previous government " ....the nasty CO2 goes up in the air ..." Tosh CO2 is heavier than the main components of air !. Did you do any science? One of the first experiments we did was to watch the behaviour of a lighted match as it was lowered to a solid floor. BTW I do have a science degree and have also spent my entire working life in a breaking edge technology industry.

So you know what the Met Office, IPCC and just about every government in the world does not? Wow, it must be one great conspiracy theory then! What next, is smoking good for you and do people only say it is bad to raise taxes?

So in your job you have discovered knowledge showing that the whole world, not just the previous UK government, is wrong about one of the most important issues facing the planet today? You know more than all the world's leading scientists, the IPCC and governments worldwide?

People make a lot of money on the back of selling oil and there is financial interest in doing nothing to change the status quo.

"The issue of climate change is one that we ignore at our own peril. There may still be disputes about exactly how much we're contributing to the warming of the earth's atmosphere and how much is naturally occurring, but what we can be scientifically certain of is that our continued use of fossil fuels is pushing us to a point of no return. And unless we free ourselves from a dependence on these fossil fuels and chart a new course on energy in this country, we are condemning future generations to global catastrophe." Barack Obama.

The whole point of business is to survive and then if possible profit. That is not comparable to government.

And, den169 is correct to an extent, I would not use the word "ripping off", but the government are the reason for a huge % of petrol prices. here is what I could find quickly, I'm sure with a more in depth look, up to date figures could be found.

As you can see when prices are at 95p, just under 64p of that is tax.

Wow, this thread really puts the people of Uganda's problems into perspective doesn't it.
I mean, "rip off Britain" - we really have it bad!

Barack Obama isnt a Scientist - he is proving to be one of the worst US presidents other than GWB in modern times!

i did not discover that the previous UK government was wrong! I knew that the statement "CO2 goes up in the air..." was incorrect and misleading. CO2 is heavier than the main components of air (Nitrogen/Oxygen)"

If you bothered to look there is a very sizeable scientific lobby that questions the whole climate change/global warming scenario. I do not deny that climate change may be occurring and that it has consequences on our well being and economy but as far as I can see this is nothing unusual as even within the last 2000 years we have seen considerable swings in global temperatures. But even 2000 years is an incredibly miniscule time in the history of this planet.
Whatever you seem to ignore my basic science questions? My point is that if climate change is occurring then the effect of human activity on this is minimal and is not CO2 related and if anything is CHx and/or NOx related.

Environment issues have always been a convenient excuse to tax the nuts off most of us, and always will be!
#35
Esso is close to me, will check tomorrow :-)
#36
What about BP - how are their prices these days? They don't cause any direct negative impact on the environment do they?

There is huge issues about their data and stats available as we can't consider them them as neutral sources. I was wondering why uk news networks were silent when network of East Anglia uni was hacked and emails of "scientist" revealed http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/21/science/earth/21climate.html
If you want make planet "greener" force US to ratify Kyoto Protocol. http://kolobok.us/smiles/personal/big_boss.gif

Kyoto is now old hat and is CO2 focussed - as i say if anything wrong gas.
BTW i do not see any lobbying from the CO2 camp to stop deforestation and concreting over greenfield sites? If CO2 is if misguidedly the favoured "bete noir" then these factors are far more significant than if your car emits 136gm/km CO2 or 236gm/km CO2 (except of course the tax you pay!)
