Earlier tonight when in Tesco Stirling I was about to buy a box of 80 PG tips at £2 odd when I noticed the 40 pack at 50p, no special deal label just the ordinary price label!
seems OK to me (I drink a lot of tea)

I noticed this yesterday. It seems like they are price matching Asda on these small boxes:

In Tesco Express stores these packs of 40 are 52p.

Good price, also noticed this the other day and have a photo of the receipt with this deal on it if you need it on a deal I posted at http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/444456/showthread.php?p=5832865#post5832865:)

wow-good price..almost the same as 'own brand' tea. saying that- asda own brand round tea bag is not too bad either..

What the poor people who have to pick tea leaves all day have to do to get these sooo cheap. bet the cost of one pack is a weeks wage..... Ahh well the kettles boiling have to go!

Worth stocking up on some of this, don't drink tea though myself, I'm a coffee man, we need a price war of coffee too!

yeah i went into asda a few days ago, the 80 pack was £1.60 odd and the 40packs were only 50p each.

Doesnt make sense.

Exactly, even the advertised sales (2.50 on 160 or so) do not come close to this offer. So why buy the bigger sizes? I guess they are only for people who do not spot this bargain.

Asda has it, too, BTW. Not sure about Sainsbury's.
