Seems like a bargain, I know it is old hat compared to the new HD stuff but, Phillips 32" for £164.64...?

Surely that is good value.

Read some good reviews on it too....!

And to think I was consdering a ex-display 36" CRT for £350, if this order goes thru will be a great price, now sods law means they'll be £99 next year... ;)

PS: If anyone knows of any good 3.1 (centre, sub and rears) or 5.1 (all the speakers) speaker packages without dvd player to go with this for £75 or less pls post it.

tried to order one of these last week and was going to post the deal nut spoke to dixons about delivery and was advised the unit is actually no longer available. sorry to dampen anyones spirits on this one but this is why i didnt post it. if anyone knows of any similar tv deals though pls feel free to post

Thanks but I must say that everytime I have tried to order something from dixons of this type, it has NEVER been available. All it ever says is "Due to high demand ..."

I just tried using postcode from loads of different areas like edinburgh, glasgow, fife, perth, Big cities, and got the high demand message also, Really need a new TV to cover me till the HD go a bit lower as my tv's tube is going, it takes 20mins to get a picture on screen. Great deal for those that got it though x thanks Edi

When I posted this deal, I tried my postcode and was in-stock. As was the last Dixons deal. My friend who ordered the latter got the 5.1 Home theatre delivered yesterday and 28" TV is on its way. Sorry guys, this will be a limited stock at this price and whoever grabs this gets a bargain.
#9
Yeah, these deals are postcode lucky dips :) Nice if you can find one!

I managed to process the order, and get confirmation of order, no e-mail on payment taken or possible dispatch, was told they would call for that though if they do...
Thanks for that edi.

Im my experience, these deals on Dixons/Currys are always "available" late at night eg 10pm onwards but not during the day(unless they really do have some for your local postcode), tried it with a panasonic some months back, got order confirmation and then got email next morning saying no longer available

These deals are in my opinion scams by Dixons Currys etc they don't exist its just a con to get people on there site in the hope they'll buy something anyway.Iv'e looked at lots like the above never found any in stock unless its after 10pm at night then you get the email next day saying sorry out of stock.
#14
I wouldn't be surprised if DSG did this for sales over nite then cancel the loss leading items the next morning.

My order is still present on the site though so if anyone has gotten a call from Dixons to confirm delivery pls tell us.

They do exist & not a con. My friend got the other Dixons offer (Sanyo Pure Flat Widescreen 28" TV + Free 5.1 Home theatre for £209) delivered .

Any of these deals at Dixons/Currys that are available through the day are ok (eg the sanyo which to me isnt that great a deal anyway, 28" Flat screen Tvs can be had for much less even taking into account the extra speakers), but in my experience when they are not available in the day but then after around 10pm do become available means they are not in stock ( but with the standard email procedure of order received then another email next day saying now out of stock) so in that respect it is a con because they are saying out of stock in daytime, in stock in evening (after 10pm) and let you order but then next day get the email which happydude got.

That's true, but this is a 32" and if you don't try, you don't get. I know it's frustrating to think you're going to get something, as you have a confirmation e-mail. It's best to go into this type of bargain and expect it to be a "try for" rather than "They have to give me one" attitude.

Thanks for the night/day information riker ;)

I'm not suprised he got the TV, it's not exactly a bargain offer.
