Get a Panasonic Viera plasma instead. Go to John Lewis if you want a 5-year guarantee.

Nothing necessarily. Just that you can definitely get a Viera from JL with a five-year guarantee. Maybe Marks and Sparks sell Vieras too. I don't know. I do know that JL have a decent infrastructure for returns though. Delivery is free from JL, installation isn't but really, how hard is it to plug in a TV?

You can get a TX-P42S20B for £600 or a TX-P42G20B with Freesat HD for £700 from JL.
If you don't need the 5-year thing, you can get the TX-P42G20B for £650 or less if you shop around. Actually the TX-P42S20B is less than £500 on Amazon and you can probably get a third-party warranty for less than £100.

So two inches bigger screen and better picture quality for less money (or the same money with Freesat HD if you need it).

I believe the G20B has various other advantages over the S20B too. That is probably the one I would go for at this price point and screen size. I might wait for a slight price reduction though.

i agree with your tv choice i bought a 42inch panny last year from john lewis with a 5year warranty, my son bought the same tv from mands also with a 5 year warranty, i thought from you comments you was in the know with problems with the mands warranty, was getting worried for him.
