By the way, the benefits are not needing text scaling at this size...

Been this price for the past 3 weeks.
I know cos I ordered at the original £645.99 back in november and received my monitor a few weeks ago and got the difference refunded.

This isn't a deal, it's RRP (yes overclockers.co.uk are asking more, but they are as we all know price gouging and don't do anything by RRP if they can help it)

There's a 1-2 month wait still, so it kinda a could have been a deal just about if in stock...

/Rant.

That's not rrp. Just because it's been that price on Amazon for a while. It's a very good price compared to elsewhere. Heat.

Been wanting a 4k monitor to get enough space for all the windows on big projects. I really can't see the point of 4k 28" monitors as everything is just too small, or if you bump Windows scaling, you lose the space, so tried a 4k 40" TV and totally happy with the physical size on a desk with no windows scaling, but had to send it back as it was 4:2:0 chroma so had colour fringing on text

This seems to be the only affordable 40" 4k monitor at present and combing the reviews it doesn't seem to have any show stoppers.
Colour accuracy is pretty good as are viewing angles and response time. Yes, the backlight is a little irregular and the corners will be a little darker if it's on a desk in front of you because it's a large VA panel, but the alternatives (4:2:2 TV or better monitors of this size) are a lot more money. It does 4k/60Hz with DP input, so can game.

Proper review
More chatty assessment

If anyone's interested, I've got a detail (long) assessment of all aspects of the thing ...

Stock has been arriving in small numbers. Earliest UK shipments were around 14-Dec. Mine is due around 25-Jan. If you can't wait, there are small numbers in Scandinavia and Northern Europe (US people have bought them).

It games too - extract from someone who bought it:
Blacks are inky, gaming @ 4k in Elite Dangerous is simply stunning.
Very surprised to find 1440p scaling works well (very limited testing so far) - but Arma III and Crysis 3 very playable and no obvious issues sorted. This has made me quite excited as I have best of both worlds, especially for games which aren't SLI friendly (I run SLI 970s). Input lag. I can't measure this, but I can say that again, from my limited testing, this isn't severe. BF4 very playable, and so long as 60fps is constant there's no issue. Certainly, I think it's slightly less than the 32" VA panels which are out there (Acer/Benq/Samsung).

I'm so tempted to spend the cash on this, however, would my GTX770 need an upgrade?
