Cant find anything concrete (only a review of the 55") on this but apparently the tv doesnt support the HVEC codec needed for 4k netflix and doesnt support HDMI 2.0 so 4k content might be an issue. It does however possibly support HDCP 2.2 so could play 4k blu ray. Just something to consider with all of these 4k tvs. Not something i even knew about until id started looking to buy one. General rule at the moment seems to be if its really cheap, its really cheap for a reason.

Having said that this is a cracking price for a 40" tv.

I saw a samsung OLED tv in costco yesterday and i must say i think im going to hold off (maybe a year or two) until they are available in the mainstream, the picture on it was amazing.
does it come with active glasses anyone???

4k oled is the way to go..about £2000 at the mo tho...
utterly pointless technology at this size not to mention there won't be any real content for the next 5 years, can't even get 1080p over air yet
Yes 2 pairs

Nice, Do you know, is that active or passive 3D?
It's 2d only. If 3d is a priority get the 42ub820v - £50 more at the moment at £499 but has proper 4k support.

The 42ub820v isn't a 3D TV?

in which case I blush, stand corrected and acknowledge that the Philips is a good deal if 3d is a priority :)
The LG 42UB820V is not 3D.

I bought one for my own Xmas pressie. Still an awesome TV for PS4 and Sky Sports HD.
Used to have a Philips Ambilight TV,and the picture was very good, even on SD broadcasts.Only minus was the awful lag for video games, don't know if Philips have improved in that area.
