Great deal! I got this TV when it was £499 at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee, this is a good price for this tv. I know the "it's not 1080p" brigade will be along in a moment but I use this with a Freesat HD box and picture is great in 1080i and much better than the picture I was getting on my LG plasma which this replaced.

Slightly OT, but how good is freesat hd? I'm wanting to kick Sky into touch and go over to this

I've never had Sky HD so personally can't compare. However, the picture quality on the free HD channels should be no different to what you see on Sky, I have the Humax Foxsat and HD looks great to me, and don't forget you will also get ITV HD content on a Freesat box which you won't on Sky.

Here is a quick snap I just took of this Philips plasma with BBC HD going through it, not the best pic in the world but at least it gives you an idea.

Cheers.

We only have SD Sky, so any change is good. We don't want to line Sky's pockets anymore :)

TV is really good quality and value, I have one (purchased 12 months ago). My Mum decided she too would have one, and ordered this on 05/10/08 (the website said in stock - delivery within one week). On check out, the delivery date was stated as 16/10/08. We telephoned to confirm the delivery date a few days beforehand, and was told it would be delivered as planned. The 16th came and went, and no TV. We rang around 7pm on the 16th, and was told it would be delivered the next day. At 6pm on the 17th, we telephoned and was told they couldn't understand why it had not been delivered, but if we hadn't received it by 5TH NOVEMBER, we should ring back !!!! Needless to say, we cancelled the order and got a Toshiba from Curry's (42" - £449), and had it set up by 8pm on the 17th.

It's a shame that Additions and Littlewoods Direct operate in this way, as this is an excellent deal for a really good TV. If you're not in any hurry for your TV, then I would highly recommend ordering.

I got mine on the date they said i would.

As for the telly - very happy so far 2 - months. Cheap feeling remote control is the only criticism.
