I have this shaver and to be honest I would say this is the worst shaver I have ever bought. The 6000 series branded "Philishave" were 10x better than this rubbish. The shaver tends to cause irritation and the cut is not close enough and leaves a stuble feel to your face unless you spend ages at it. The shaver has a cheap feel to it and has half the weight of a 6000 series. The shaver motor seems to be underpowered for the task it is designed for. The only good thing about it is that it can be washed directly under the tap. Cheaper ones from the same series probably produce the same results. People have said that F1 or better is a safer option but the cost is somewhat higher. This product has been cheaper in the past from around £30-35. The Arcitec is half price too http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002201&langId=-1&searchTerms=4429508 but double the cost of this. Just my 2p worth lol...

I have 2 virtually identical shavers from the 6000 series, one is crap and the motor seems to spin too slowly to cut properly, doesn't cut close anyway and you could spend half an hour going over the same spot again and again trying to force it to catch the hairs. The other one spins a little quicker, cuts close and gets the job done quickly.

They both have exactly the same looking heads as this one. I'm not surprised at the poster(s) above comments (good and bad) and think Philips really need to get their act together.

just wish i could afford The Arcitec i am pushing it as it is :P

but i am assuming if its naff i can take it back, ie if it wont shave then its not fit for purpose

Personally I would go for the Phillips HQ6990. Similar specification for less money.

also at Amazon (although cheaper there is a wait for it)
