This must be the bargain of the year!
#2
I wonder if its a nationwide deal..or just a lucky find..
#3
Brilliant deal if nationwide... Can you point to the store you spotted this Golaboots888 ? :)
#4
Less than 2p per battery UNBELIEVABLE!
#5
Sold out all over LONDON except for chiswick
#6
i bet the council would pay you more not to buy them so they dont have to stick em all in their landfill lol
#7
Saw them on their website. You can normally phone up, check stock and reserve items.

Wow - that makes them almost as cheap to use as rechargeables. Don't mention the landfill tax though.
#9
Cheap deal but absolutely terrible for the enviroment ! The government should be banning everything but rechargables !

Yes, terrible. ZZZZZzzzzzzzz
#11
Haha - looks like you and I both tend to say things that upset those on here that consume without thinking, alera. The ironic thing is that however selfish they are, they're still losing out by buying these batteries because they are more expensive to use than rechargeables.

With the 20% rise in energy prices will it be cheaper than 2p to recharge them. ;-)
Plus you have to buy the rechargable batteries and charger . Landfill Tax? Sounds just like yet another stealth tax
#14
I've gone off rechargeables. They're not an ideal solution for all battery operated products. Put them in something for long term power like a remote and they need recharging after a few weeks or maybe a month or so. Put normal batteries in and you're OK for a year plus.

thats why hybrio / enerloop type rechargeable batteries are so good. They are rechargeable and maintain 70% charge at 12 months.
They should work out cheaper than even these if you use them for >50 charges...and better for the planet too.
Go get some!

I agree not worth the hassle gimmie normal ones anytime!
#17
just the job! lol

No thought or respect for the future or environment. That’s the problem when you have to deal with the lowest common denominator.....

I really hate bigots. Have an opinion, even express the opinion, but dont then be rude to people who happen not to share your point of view. Doing so just makes people anti your argument.

buy decent rechargeables.....i use the vapextech ones that keep the charge better (the green ones)...been in my remotes for at least a year without any recharging so far.

What an IDIOT! Does the government care about the future or environment? When the public transport was sold off the people that bought it were out to make themselves profits. That is why there are so many cars on the roads now. When it was public transport and run as a service there were fewer cars on the road because it was cheaper than running a car. People buying a few AA batteries does not compare with what this does to the environment

That's not bigotry - bigotry is sticking to untenable beliefs despite all the evidence to the contrary.

If you're just criticising rudeness, then I presume you will agree that "Yes, terrible. ZZZZZzzzzzzzz" is just as rude as the posting you are quoting.

Hmmm - so because there's someone doing something worse than you, there's no point in you doing anything at all? Should you be allowed to go out and assult people because some people commit murder?
Before you shout "IDIOT!" at people you should be very careful to make sure that it is not trivial to reflect the insult back at you.
#24
It looks like oil and batteries are enough to start the third world war.

329 degrees shows most people are not interested in your point of view. Anyone who thinks that buying a few AA batteries will make a big difference to the environment is an idiot. There are many far bigger problems that need to be addressed. Assault > Murder and AA Batteries > Vehicle Emissions does not compare more like Assault > Genocide

So should I not be allowed to state it?

Anyone who fails to realise that it's the little things that people do which add up to make the big differences has their head well and truly buried in the sand.

If the Big things are not addressed what difference are the little things going to make. 330 degrees shows what people think of your opinion. Your head seems to be buried in a place where the sun does not shine.

Oh dear - you've really lost the plot haven't you? These are not bargains - they are more expensive to use than rechargeable batteries. Can't you understand that?

If the Big things are not addressed what difference are the little things going to make.
The little things lead to the big things happening. If it is not within one's power to do anything about the big things, one does what one can and this all helps to change practices and attitudes which will filter upwards.
Your head seems to be buried in a place where the sun does not shine.
Goodness me, you're rattled aren't you?

Of coarse they are not a bargain - one is given unbreakable chargers and rechargable batteries free of charge - with free electricity. Why get ripped off paying less than 8p for 4 AA alkaline batteries.

Now 342 degrees (but they are not as enlightened as yourself)

*UPDATE Now 351 degrees*(are these people beginning to see things your way?)

Yes I sort of agree... but to me HUKD is for people to post good value items based on cost, it's not a forum for people to try and sway others politics, so I can sympathise with the ZZZZZzzzzzzzz comment. If we were after some clever political debate we'd find a board designed for the purpose.
#34
you guys want to get a charger that does Alkaline , ive had one for 3 years and it charges all types very well even C and D.

Silly statements like that won't help you. Why don't you do the maths and work out how much it will actually cost? I guess it's so much easier to rant and rave, isn't it?

*shrug* That's just people seeing "cheap batteries" and voting hot. Just like pigs at the trough - no need to think, just gobble. Now how exactly does that prove that these are cheaper to use than rechargeables?
