I quite like the concept of this - but the reviews on Amazon show it's problems.

A far better description of what this actually does;

This is a bit more than a standard clock radio, it is also a message centre;

Philips’s AJL305 is a great device to have in the family home or in a house share. It lets you record voice messages to other members of the household and each member has their own ‘inbox’ with a photo of themselves. The device also works as an alarm clock, radio and photo slideshow too!

The AJL305’s voice recording function is handy for busy households. For example you can record reminders, important messages or just say Hi!
Recording messages is incredibly simple! Each member of the household is represented by a 1.5-inch colour thumbnail picture that you can upload via USB. Each picture has a button below it that you press to record a message for that particular person. Once you’re done, an icon will then appear on the picture of the recipient informing them that they have a message. They can then press the button below their picture to play it back. Messages can be up to 20 seconds in length and you can store up to two minutes worth of messages on the built-in memory.

The AJL305 also works as a digital photo frame that can show up to 20 photos and can also display the time or a calendar - Handy when it comes to recording reminders.

The alarm clock allows you to wake up to music, a radio station or buzzer alarm and it will gradually increase the volume of the alarm sound, so you won’t be shocked by a sudden noise.

The system also features FM radio with 20 station presets. Setting a station preset is easy; When you're on the station of choice, press the preset button down and the system will save that station as a preset. You can then easily access it at anytime.

You can connect the AJL305 to your PC via USB and then use the PC software that comes included for photo management and synchronisation.

The AJL305 is easy to use and looks very stylish. It can be wall mounted to help save space, or placed on a surface such as a bedside table using the built-in stand.

If you live in a busy household that needs organisation, the AJL305 from Philips is the device for you!

What's in the Box?

The AJL305 comes with the following accessories as standard:

• AC-DC Adapter
• Photo Manager software (CD-ROM)
• USB cable
• Wall mount kit
• Quick install guide
• User Manual
• Warranty certificate

I think you are better off buying the O2 Joggler which is currently reduced to £50.

Philips never seem to get anything right other than their TVs.

You need an internet connection to get radio on that though.... so it's a different beast. However, thanks to your recommendation I got sucked in an bought a Joggler - but not for a radio or photo frame!

So i received mine today ...
Still waiting for my Joggler ( had to order that too :whistling: )

I'm impressed with it as a clock radio... even the wall mount is cool... and adjustable.

The adjustable brightness is very good ..
The messaging feature will prob not be used ...
And the software is causing me problems..

But I'm happy with it for the price :)
