I have this monitor and would say that it was really good value for the money. Unfortunately paid abit more for it - although only £45.00, still happy with it though! Great find!

This is a really good monitor, we have two, one for each child! We bought one on Boots points and one for £40 in the sale so this is a great price.

very mixed reviews, but a good price. hot

Excellent deal

I've been looking at getting the SCD520 but may just opt for this

bt monitor 100 would be a much better choice, Best Buy according to Which?.com and cost about £33 on amazon.

:thinking:Not sure why this is expired. It is still showing in stock for that price.

that BT one seems to have a lot of people complaining about the sound muting/failing - anyone know for certain if it's just user error or a genuine product fault

Are u refering to the one reviewer having this issue on Amazon?
There's a Mute function on the parent unit. If this is activated, obviously you hear no sound.
If this was a genuine fault in all units do you really think Which? would declare this unit as 2009 Best Buy?

one reviewer you say? think you better read beyond the first page of the reviews (try this page)

I’m not ruling out the possibility of a lot of them being numpties, but nor will i rule out a QC problem as quite a few report the problem developing after some months of otherwise decent use

Which? Mag review vs Amazon "numpties" review...you decide. :)

i don't doubt the BT product has decent features etc, and thus scored well on the which? test i do however doubt which? decided to test the product over a 1yr period to rule out the QC issues mentioned in several of the reviews, quite a few of which had to return several of those baby monitors after they developed faults 3+ months in.

now i'll throw you back a question did those people (who were using the product fine initially) just suddenly hit the wrong switch a few months in or did the product genuinely fail?

For Godsake...
If u know anything about how Which? magazine reviews products you wouldn't be saying it's based mainly on product features!
Moreover, I see only 2 reviews on Amazon for the Philips monitor and surprisingly one of that is negative!!!
Compare that to 40 reviews for the BT monitor, of which the majority are positive.

Dude, you r free to buy which ever monitor you prefer...its your money after all!
