Philips BDP2500 Bluray Player £49.99 @ techfurb/ebay
Found this slighty hidden on ebay daily deals, was advertised last week for £70. Having read the reviews and spec for 50 quid its a steal. This is my first post, hope this is some use to everyone.
The Philips BDP2500 offers Philips quality of picture and sound at a top value price.
With x.v Colour, Deep Colour and 1080p resolution at 24fps, the Philips BDP2500 offers a sense of realism that you can only get from Blu-ray. As you'd expect, the BDP2500 will also upscale your existing DVDs to full 1080p meaning that, provided you have a 1080p TV, all your existing DVDs can be viewed at the highest resolution possible. Furthermore, the BDP2500 will also playback DivX Ultra media files for enhanced enjoyment of any DivX recorded material you may have.
Matching this superb picture quality is an equally impressive sound. DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD give accurate and precise sound through 7.1 channels. Philips's usual quality of design shines through with their careful selection and design of audio components giving a better sound quality than many rivals.
In addition to superior quality sound and vision, the BDP2500 has some very useful features. Bonus View lets you watch a second Picture-In-Picture for following film commentary. Subtitle shift allows for widescreen viewing without missing any text. In addition to the usual sockets, you'll also find a USB port that's ideal for uploading any firmware upgrades.
With its rounded edges, the Philips stands apart from other "square" designs and is every bit as distinctive as their flat panel TVs. For thrilling sound and vision from budget Blu-ray, the Philips BDP2500 makes an ideal choice.

Where does it say refurbished??? It says NRFB which means "'Never Removed From the Box' means the item has never been taken out of the original box, thus never handled."
Are you going by the store name Techfurb? They are Dixons / Currys outlet on ebay.

I also bought an LG from them. It was store demo unit (had a sticker on the box saying so), had loads of scratches on the unit where the anti-theft device had been removed, and definately wasn't NRFB and BNIB as it was supposed to be.
Techfurb collected at their cost and refunded, but I was left without a unit so the experiance wasn't good overall.
That said, I guess I was just one of the unlucky people who happened to get the store demo rather than the unsold store stock.
I'd vote cold against the seller (which I can't) but the deal is hot :)
You just bought one? Says sold 38 now!
