WOW - seriously hot if true.

They'll be giving em away with cornflakes soon.

There's also firmware available on the Phillips site to enable video content to be played from a USB stick; possible it ships with this version, I don't know. Good player, though the remote's hard to see in poor light if you're getting on a bit like me.

I had one of these for six months but it started freezing and suffering from sound break-up - swapped it for an LG BD350.

its a bargain at £50 if in stock????????????????????????

Awful player (although at £50 would be ok i suppose)

took mine back to ASDA, it kept blanking screen and losing sound during films, a friend got one from amazon (twice) and same happened to him on both.

Noisey, load up times forever!
#12
Hot if you can find it, I have phoned 6 of my local stores and they are all £129:x

Im confused.

If it doesnt do the basic job it is supposed to do (ie play discs with no problems) then how would it be 'ok' at £50?

with asdas 28 day return policy
it worth a try
for me fosse park store mentioned in the OP is only 2 miles away
EDIT
just nipped down and got one, still a big pallet full near customer services (fosse park)
near where you walk in
for mkvs over 4 gig just convert them to AVCHD and burn to dual layer disc
takes minutes and are thre same as blue ray but best to use verbatims as cheap discs will error on playback
have some heat and rep OP

if there's a firmware update available it's always worth upgrading to the latest version.

a lot of early bluray players were unstable and had issues with a lot of discs, mainly because bluray was released before they'd standardised the format, so there were a lot of compatibility issues.

chances are that with the latest firmware, this will be more a more stable player now.

Just Done Firmware Update To Latest Version From Usb Stick
Cant Do Region Hack Though For Some Reason
Will Try A Mkv Of Flash Forward Or V 2009 Later From Usb Stick Later
Its Showing As Region 0
Isnt That Normally Multi-Region Anyway
EDIT
(After looking at a review on amazon, it looks like you just do the hack and turn the player on and off)
so probally dont let you know its done
if you have issues with a RCE region 1 disc
i assume you just use 1389311 to get it to a region 1 player
and
1389312 to revert it back to a region 2 player for warranty purposes
as on other dvd players that i have multi-region hacked in the past have been
xxxxxxx0 for multi-region
xxxxxxx1 for region 1
xxxxxxx2 for region 2
etc etc etc... up to xxxxxxx6 for region 6

I think you will find, as I have it is an electrical issue not discs. Play a disc and turn on/off a light switch or boil kettle or something that powers something. It does a screen blank for two seconds or so. I have tried surge protectors/filters and makes no difference. Also did the same in a mates house.

I have mentioned this to Philips on their support forum, so if you have one of these players still can you confirm that this is what happens for you?
