The Philips BDP3000 offers the latest Blu-ray spec with Philips quality at a top value price.

With x.v Colour and 1080p resolution at 24fps, the Philips BDP3000 offers a sense of realism that you can only get from Blu-ray. As you'd expect, the BDP3000 will also upscale your existing DVDs to full 1080p meaning that, provided you have a 1080p TV, all your existing DVDs can be viewed at the highest resolution possible.

Matching this superb picture quality is an equally impressive sound. DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD give accurate and precise sound through 7.1 channels. Philips's usual quality of design shines through with their careful selection and design of audio components giving a better sound quality than many rivals.

In addition to superior quality sound and vision, Blu-ray takes the experience one stage further with BD-Live. Thanks to a standard Ethernet connection, it's possible to link the player up to the Internet. From here you can download data such as images, subtitles and bonus content linked to specific Blu-ray discs.

With its rounded edges, the Philips stands apart from other "square" designs and is every bit as distinctive as their flat panel TVs. For thrilling sound and vision from Blu-ray, the Philips BDP3000 makes an ideal choice.

it may be unfair to tar every Philips items with the same brush, btu the PVR i've got from them is one of the most pathetic gadgets ever, and i doubt i'll ever trust Philips again.
good price though, and to be fair decent reviews here:

great price for a blu-ray player with rather good reviews.

was just going to take the plunge and get a PS3 to play my blu-rays, even though i have an xbox 360.

... but saving around £120 by getting a standalone player has changed my mind :)

Multi region hackable for DVD (but, sadly not for Blu Ray).

With no disc in tray.
Press "HOME" key on remote control
Press number keys "1389310"

That's it, region free. . . Enjoy

only available in-store aswell, so will be phoning my local in the morning.

how long can they reserve items for? ... as wanting to pick one up on Thursday.

changed my mind about this after reading about playback problems with terminator salvation, etc.

.. going for the popular sony s360 for £129.99 at play.com with free blu-rays.

It has (and an ethernet port), but annoyingly, you can't playback media on it :-(

The USB would be for BD2.0, not for using to connect USB drives.

You will find the Sony will struggle with the likes of Crank 2. All players have their problems :!:

Wish they'd sorted the damned set up of the players and the software on them before releasing and continuously updating the standard, most annoying.

Very good price if you can get one.
Richer Sounds Kensington seems to never have any of the offers in store.
E-Bay?

Have you tried mentioning it to the guys in the store? I've not tried but it claims on the website they'll honour the price if it's cheaper on their website.
